DPM says government's 20 year plan to be present in every draft of constitution

BANGKOK, 27 July 2016 (NNT) – The Deputy Prime Minister has indicated that even if the current draft charter does not pass referendum, the next edition of the document will maintain the government’s reform strategies and goals.

The National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) has held a seminar on the 20 year reform plan set by the current government titled “A Desired Society”. NRSA Chairman Capt. Thinaphan Nakata opened the event by stating the government drafted its 20 year development strategy as it wishes to see the nation be stable, prosperous and sustainable with peace and development for all.

At the same seminar, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Kreau-ngam gave a speech on the future of the nation in which he stated that posing questions on Thailand’s future is a good way to stir its citizens to consider their long term desires for the Kingdom.

He added that the reform strategies of the government have been included in the latest draft charter, pointing out that even if it does not pass public referendum, the strategies will be transferred to every subsequent draft. He explained however, that maintaining the 20 year plan does not mean the current administration will remain in power for the entire duration.

Is a coup a reform strategy or a reform goal?

A 20 year plan, oh please ! gigglem.gif

So the junta will have to stay in power to see it through ?

"The National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) has held a seminar on the 20 year reform plan set by the current government titled A Desired Society.

The government's "desired society" is a subservient nation.

It's kind of revealing that the junta comes up with a 20 year plan when governments are elected for 4 years. Goes to show how useful the referendum is.

A 20 year plan, oh please ! gigglem.gif

the positive thing out of that is, the current dinosaurs will be extinct, and by then, new fresh blood will hopefully drag Thailand out of this " sod it. lets stage a coup, things are not to our liking" mentality

The military have it stated in the draft of their 20 year plan......they intend to "manage" the government for this time.

New blood coming in.....don't think so...it'll be the same quality of officials as it's always been........the education system doesn't turn out great scholars.....!

"...the government drafted its 20 year development strategy as it wishes..."

One of the first factual statements I've seen from the NNT in a while!

As for "A Desired Society"? Tell him he's dreaming.

Interpretation: Its our way or the highway so accept what is offered in this one nothing will change in the future. Somebody has been reading George Orwells 1984. Was that not a "Desired Society" desired by who?? Will everybody end up with a number stamped on their forehead??

A 20 year plan, oh please ! gigglem.gif

Wasn't it obvious from day one? wai2.gifwai2.gifwai2.gif

20 year plan? Ha ha. I'm sure most of that will indeed be implemented!
