Have had two tracked parcels arrived in Samui for me the last couple of days to my address, filled in by me.

I tracked them both to arrival, and neither were delivered. I had to go to the post office and ask for them.

Both times the postman said the address wasn't clear and something was missing.

My address format is example

House no. X Room no Y

Moo no. Z

Tambon Bophut

Amphoe Koh Samui

84320

Suratthani

Is there somewhere I can go to double check my address? Maybe the land office?

Even when my address is perfectly written sometimes I have to go to the post office too, sometimes not, for me it is in Lamai but same same.

You need the number of the Chanote issued to the land.

Something like 96/5, where 96 is the issued Chanote number and 5 is the house number.

There are thousands of houses in each moo in Bophut.

I never had any problems getting things delivered to my address in samui until the last 3 weeks.

I ordered stuff from lazada and half off it turned up delivered by bike courier but the rest hadn't arrived by the delivery date. I sent an email to lazada asking where it was and they said someone tried to deliver it 3 days before and that it was at the post office ! Nobody tried to deliver it to me as I am at home all day and there was no card left either.

I ordered expensive art prints from USA 3 weeks ago and thought they would be due around now. My wife came home yesterday from work to find the box with them dumped outside the gate !! Yet again nobody beeped their horn ,rang the phone number I gave or rang the door bell !!

Funnily enough, my post has normally arrived at Chaweng Post Office, but these last two times it has been Choengmon, so maybe they are changing things, (for the worse).

I originally checked my address, by going to the Post Office and ask, and the Postmaster said that for 100 baht he would ask the local Postman Pat, who knew the area well, to draw a map, which he did and to my house, and saying a farang lived there. When he realized it was me living there, the Postmaster did not want any payment, as that was free customer service.wai.gif

Going to the Tessa Ban, where they issue the house number, they always ask one to draw a map to the house...thumbsup.gif
