My partner needs a birth certificate for her residency application for New Zealand. We reside in NZ and need to apply from here for a certificate. I am not sure her birth was ever properly registered, both her ID card and passport show the DOB as xx/xx/76. She is from north of Chiang Rai toward Mae Sai if that helps. We just need to know where and how to apply for this.

I suspect there is no birth certificate and an alternative will have to be found - does she recall what was used for ID/Passport?  Could have been a friendly official and that could open a can of worms.  

Hi I helped her get the passport and we only needed he ID card. She can't remember what she had to get her ID card. Does anybody know what office we need to approach to get a birth certificate up in the Doi Tong or Mae Sai area

Pretty sure she'll need a copy of the house registration.  That's generally how Thais establish citizenship.  If she doesn't own a house, her name is likely still on her parent's house registration.
