Importing laser parts

I have an old laser project from college that I brought with me when I moved here, and I want to get some parts for it to get it working again.  Mainly, I want to update the old fashioned tube lasers to solid state ones.  Does anyone think I'd run into any problems trying to get some laser modules (perhaps as high as 5W) shipped from China?  I can see lots of the parts I need on Ebay, and all the sellers are all right next door in China.  I'm just worried that Thai customs will open up the package, see something like this and think it's a bomb or weapon of some sort.  Or they'll see the word LASER on the customs form and think it's some sort of death ray.  I had no problem ordering a half dozen 50 mW green laser diode housings and drivers last year, but those are small and probably slipped under the radar.  Is anyone aware if lasers fall into any of the 'prohibited' categories for customs?
