Bangkok Hospital in Phuket advertises the cheapest price for a colonoscopy, starting price at 12K Baht. Does anybody have any experience with this particular hospital?

Remember to check details - cost for any removal/biopsy and such as that can make a huge difference in final bill.

Make sure too that the cost includes the IV sedation.  Sometimes these low quotes do not.

 

At any hospital, biopsy of any removed lesions will be additional and no way to predict since until it is done they don't know if there will be a need for any biopsy nor how many. However, the removal of the polyps or tissue samples should be part and parcel of the procedure at no added cost..but given this low rate, best to confirm.

 

As to whether you should have it done at that hospital, I think a lot depends on why you are having it done. If just for routine screening then I think any hospital is OK. If it is because you are symptomatic, best to select a good colorectal specialist and frankly for that, best to come to Bangkok.
