I am just gathering info. in preparation of a trip to Vientiane to apply for a Non Imm 'O' based on over 55 once my TR runs out.

 

While checking the location of the Thai Embassy or Consulate in order to book a hotel nearby, I find three different addresses.

 

(1) Avenue Kaysone Phomivane, Vientiane

(2) Savannaket Road, Xaysettha City, Vientiane

(3) Rue Bourichane, Vientiane.

 

Can anyone please tell me which is the correct one for visa applications?

Also maybe a recommendation of a half decent hotel not too far from there?

 

I plan to arrive by air from Samui via BKK.

Last time I stayed at the Hemera Hotel near the morning market. Pleasant enough, I chose it because it was halfway between town and the consulate, which is a bit out of the centre but unless you plan to spend all your time in the hotel then personally I think you are better off staying in the centre and getting the tuktuk. You 'll always get someone to share a return trip to town.
