I am ready to submit my visa application for my daughter in law. However we are going to Thailand for 2 weeks and need to get priority service but there's a problem. I live in Jersey, channel islands and in the terms of the visa services some, are not available. We have already booked return flights and accommodation and I don't want to change everything for longer.

Under the section for super priority service it says. 'If you are applying for any other visa type or for a visa for a Commonwealth or British Overseas Territory you should not use the Super Priority Visa Service.'

Under the section for priority visa service its says ' Customers applying under all settlement categories may apply for this service. This service is not available for settlement customers applying for visa for Overseas Territories and Dependencies (including the Channel Islands).

Should I just go ahead and pay for super priority service anyway, as it doesn't mention the channel islands? I have tried emailing the gov.uk but they don't answer my question they just send a generic email telling me to read the website again.

Thanks

You say "daughter in law." You cannot sponsor your daughter in law; her husband has to and to apply as a spouse she needs to be 18 or over.

But, your topic heading says "Child." Do you mean step daughter?

Not that it makes much difference to the answer to your question.

Although submitted in the same way as a UK visa application, applications for the Channel islands and the Isle of Man are not processed at the British embassy in Bangkok but forwarded to the immigration department of the appropriate government. So I believe this is why neither priority service is available for these applications.

But the super priority service is not available to settlement applicants anyway!
