Pension After Divorce?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I would like to know things happen here in case of divorce to a thai women who works but do not have child.

Is there any pension to pay if unfortunately a divorce would happen? If yes, do you know how it is calculated?

Thanks in advance for you help!

What pension are you talking about ?

Your wife may well have a legitimate claim on any private pension you may have.

I mean a part of my salary as it is used to be done for children. Should give something every month  if we divorce without child?

What is enforced is what you agree in writing during divorce.  Normally this is done without need for court or lawyers.  Spouse only has claims on half income earned while married - there would normally be at 50/50 split on joint assets.   As for how nasty this could get have no idea as have not been there and do not expect to find out.

Actually what you describe mainly describe the property. What I want to know is about the monthly PENSION to maintain a life level to the ex-spouse.

Is there such a practice here?

Thanks

You're referring to Maintenance!

Good luck :)

Well I don't know what pension the op is talking about, in Thailand or what other country

if he is on an old age pension I don't think she can take any of that

But as you all know I am back in the Nanny state (as you call it )

I got separated from my wife and it gave my a pension increase of $ 200 per fortnight

but you might be just talking about LOS
