Five redshirt activist leaders to face revocation of bail

BANGKOK: -- The Department of Special Litigation has proposed the Criminal Court to revoke bails granted to five active leaders of the redshirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) after they have violated the court's conditions set for their release on several occasions.

The five UDD leaders are Jatuporn Phromphan, Veerakarn Musikapong, Nattawut Saikur, Weng Tochirakarn, and Nisit Sinthuprai.

Director of the Department of Special Litigation Mr Panupong Chotisin said the state prosecutor has formally asked the Criminal Court to revoke their bails since September 2.

He declined to elaborate the reason to seek court’s order to revoke the bails, saying all details would be given layer by the Office of the Attorney-General.

But Thai Rath Online quoted a prosecutor in the Office as saying that the reason was that these defendants in terrorism act case have violated on several occasions the preconditions set by the court before they would go free.

yes please, past time these cretins were tossed into jail, how many times can they grant one person bail continually when they are charged again and again, will make a  lot of thais happy with these ones locked up and not causing problems, maybe they can get the same people guarding them as the one that "hanged" himself.....

Wow! That didn't take long to hit the G spot of the junta fanboys, did it? They've been hovering months for this one.

What was the dastardly act of terrorism they committed? They disagreed with the junta. One of you maniacs even hopes that they're murdered in jail.

jattuporn.. the guy who said people should burn BKK and later it happend.. reason enough to jail him. That is one of the things that he was convicted for.

Had nothing to do with the junta.. had everything to do to bring hardship on the people of BKK.

Hopefully a slow painful one if you really want to know.

strangely enough I dont really care what happens to anyone that calls on their followers to kill and maim people, Jatuporn deserves everything he gets , his death I would definitely raise a glass for. Not many peoples deaths I would welcome but his is most certainly one of them, anyone promoting/calling on their brain dead followers to kill their countrymen due entirely for their personal benefit(and that of their boss) shouldnt be breathing but then I am sure all the red apologists will disagree with that

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, that is one of the things he WILL BE convicted of. Their case has been stalled for years because some of the accused were MPs, but that situation changed with the coup. Why it hasn't been resurrected in the meantime is a mystery.

Now that bail has been revoked, strangely enough they will the loudest calling for a quick trial. A tad hypocritical one might think, but their POV has changed.

Finally news that have the junta apologists rejoicing. Even if these UDD leaders have their bail revocated and spend jail time, it will never break their resolve to their fight against Ammatayathipatai or aristocracy polity when they get out. They have done time before which only harden their stance and enhance their image to their followers. More are resonating to their cause especially with the impending changes. The UDD is unlike the PAD and the PDRC which were disintegrated as soon as they got their job done and rewarded.

The junta weren't in power in 2010 which is the time their offences were committed. They have continuously flaunted bail conditions while justice was delayed by PTP appointing (some of) them to parliament. Helping your criminal lackeys avoid prosecution by use of the party list system is a fine reason why it should be abolished or severely modified to prevent such abuse.

Funny how this comes hot on the heels of Sondhi getting 20 long ones. Lets see what happens when Yingluck's name is mentioned.

Oh we'll get the usual democratically elected BS. They only support democracy when it suits their nefarious gains. And their own pockets, of course..

You may be right, the only thing that would surely break their resolve is if the checks stop arriving. Strange how they all became successful and wealthy after they became terrorists. In Jatuporns case he responded to questions of his new found wealth with, "people like to give me things". I wonder what you would say if any member of the current regime said that?

I know this will hurt, but your heroes of the revolution are paid propagandists and rabble-rousers, in the employ of the Shinawatras. They don't teach you that in red democracy school.

Oh you mean after the redshirts agreed to leave after negotiating with Abisith and then a call from Dubai came not to leave and the whole things got ugly.....  Think we all know who is responsible for that.

What he said makes sense, would you sit and watch Thaksin rant, or even worse, sing, if you weren't being paid?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBDm-jA3N80

I would happily throw my support behind an effective, elected leader, who was helping the rural poor achieve significant economic development, against an unelected, military imposed puppet, pandering to the establishment.

Yeah, like that is a confirmed fact!

Just repetition of the yellow playlist.

There was a very important reason why the red side wanted early election while Abhisit wanted election to happen only after a certain date. In fact, it explains the behaviour of both the red shirts and the army in 2010. Later events proved it was a relevant concern....

If you took the time to read what I was commenting on & tried to get your head around it, you wouldn't make such stupid posts.

I was referring to "your heroes of the revolution are paid propagandists and rabble-rousers, in the employ of the Shinawatras" ...not myself.
