Need to get back from Rome, flying out May 15 (because my cruise ship gets back to Rome that morning)... hoping to arrive in BKK on the 16th anytime up to 8-9am, the earlier the better.

Now I've looked through my usual Expedia and Skyscanner options and the closest I can get is that TG flight... but the catch is that while the return leg is okay... the flight there is on the 1st or 3rd... both of which I cannot do.... need to fly out of BKK on the 2nd.

Are you guys aware of any low cost carrier options that the travel agents and usual online sources don't include in their algorithms?

please be more detailed about what you really want.

I get the idea you want a return FROM BKK-? maybe even open jaw (out to another port),well-its since many years and widely and many times publihsed also on this forum, that FROM TH airfares are often much higher as FROM EUR-up to double. Its a rule of thumb that the homegrown own carrier-TG- always asks for the highest premium. Plus that you departure is likely still in the around songkran top -season-which BTW here in EUR is the rock-bottom-super-duper low season.

There are since demise of AirAsia XL (but that was from KUL anyway) NO REAL LCC EUR-TH. The usual lowest priced airlines (but that may differ a little for IT) are the gulfies, like EY/EK/QR and the ex-Soviets: SU=aeroflot, Ukrayna.

Plus that Roma simply is not an airport with many long-distance airlines, the main port in IT is Milano.

From here the only airline that skysc always omits is EVA air-they fly direct (coming from TPE) BKK to AMS and VIE and LHR. Look directly at their own site. But if your schedule is so tight as you seem to indicate, you simply have not that much choice-lower priced flites always mean changes/transfers and extended timings.

Quite confusing.

To get a clearer view:

You want to fly Bangkok to Rome on May 2 (arriving May 3)?

You want to return Rome to Bangkok on May 15 (arriving May 16 in the morning)?

You cruise ship departs somewhere close to Rome?

What are the planned times for the ship?

(I would plan plenty of spare time between flight and ship).

Generally there are plenty of connecting flights.

As far as I can see TG is the only non-stop and not daily.

"LCC": what's your budget/limit?

Reallt: LCC, nonstop, arriving early in BKK: not the easiest requirements to combine.

Well, budget is relatively unlimited, this case is more of a time constraint issue.   Looks like I'll have to take the hit and get a one way BKK-FCO (probably Etihad) on the 2nd and then one way TG FCO-BKK on the 15th.   And it's for a Royal Caribbean cruise from the 3rd to the 15th (gets back to port, which is Civitavecchia about an hour outside of Rome, around 7am).

Thanks for the replies.

Just did some searching out of curiosity, and the cheapest one way with TG on the 15th is over 98,000 in economy. Aeroflot are doing a return in biz, with decent layovers, which fits your schedule for about 80,000.
