UK holiday

Featured Replies

I am going to the UK for 2 weeks. Here in Thailand I have a tablet with an AIS sim card, and buy their internet add on packages. Need good internet use while in the UK so what is the best way. Estimate I would need about 10 GB. Thanks.

If you have access to a UK address: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-3-PAYG-4G-Trio-Data-SIM-Pack-Preloaded-with-12GB-of-Data-Three-Sizes/371598351562

Check with the seller that you can use 12GB all at once, as opposed to 1GB per month for twelve months.

Direct from network here

Alternatively:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/EE-PAYG-Card-Preloaded-Data/dp/B01HBAJH2I/

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B013EBUPDI

If no address, you can pop into a 3 shop and pick the 12GB data SIM for £30 there or a free Data Reward SIM and top up £25 for a 10GB data allowance. http://www.three.co.uk/Support/Pay_As_You_Go/Mobile_broadband_tariff

You can order a free Data reward SIM to a UK address here

02 shop too, though more expensive at 8GB for £25 http://www.o2.co.uk/tablet-sims

Other options:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5483529.htm Never had a problem tethering with EE.

If you just want to pick a SIM up at the airport and then to top up, you might find a SIM for a £1 at a newsagent, but they may not be suitable for tethering. You'll need to look specifically for Data or Tablet SIM or the EE SIM in the Argos link if found in the newsagent and top up as per my links. Maybe even possible with an EE phone SIM: http://ee.co.uk/business/small/help/add-ons-benefits-and-plans/calling-texting-and-data-add-ons/ee-pay-as-you-go-add-ons/ee-pay-as-you-go-phone-data-add-ons or a Vodafone phone SIM: https://freesim.vodafone.co.uk  16GB of data for £30. Tethering allowed.

Enough for you with which to be getting on.

Thanks for the advice. The 3, 12GB package seems to be just what I am looking for.
