I flew AisAsia DMK-KL on 29 July and the queue for immigration at LCCT was the longest most disorganised mess I have ever seen at an airport. There are a significant number of negative reviews about KL airport on http://www.airlinequality.com/  that all complain about immigration. However, the reviews do not differentiate between the LCCT and the main Terminal.

I am planning another trip in October. I understand that AirAsia First Class and Premium Flex passengers can use a Priority Lane at LCCT so I will upgrade the next time I fly. Has anyone recently travelled to KL? is this a problem at just the LCCT or is the International Airport just as bad?

Air Asia do not have a 1st class.

You can purchase a premium flex option, but all that gets you is :

Lounge access for international flights departing LCCT KL only and
express boarding at the gate and priority  baggage. It does not offer the priority lane at immigration.
I have used before.

I flew to KL from BKK using a major airline which used the main terminal at KLIA, immigration was quick and easy. Of course, it all depends on how many other international flights arrive around the same time yours does.

Have a look at MAS promos. You will get rt ticket for 5-6.000 baht in c-class. This way you will have fast track immigration in thailand and at klia with usual lounge access.

Have in mind flying MAS is cheaper than cattle airways AA ending up in cattle terminal KLIA2 the LCCT. With MAS you have 30Kg free luggage, food, entertainment and arrive at the main terminal, hassle free immigration

KLIA immigration is fine, KLIA 2 (LCCT) is a zoo. There is no premium lane that I've noticed, certainly coming is on an Air Asia Premium Flex passenger I've never been treated any better than any other poor bugger coming into the awful melee that passes for an immigration hall.

I have come in and found the hall largely empty, but 80% of the time it's chaos, too many people and too few counters working, that and poorly laid out and managed roped lanes and feeder systems.

I'll look out for it next time, but there certainly wasn't a priority lane available last Friday when I arrived at KLIA2.
