Android phones vulnerable to Quadrooter attack

Featured Replies

I've just bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and downloaded the Checkpoint tool to test it.

Even though the phone is fully patched it's still vulnerable to this type of attack as can be seen from the scan I just ran.

Samsung phones are supposed to include extra security features, but it looks like they forgot to include them in this particular model even though it was only launched three weeks ago.

Full details which includes a link to the Google Playstore where you can download the tester here: http://blog.checkpoint.com/2016/08/07/quadrooter/#comment-7129

Samsung phones are notoriously bad at providing security updates, where company like Xiaomi will do twice monthly updates you be lucky to get twice yearly with Samsung, even though its a new phone doesn't mean its got the latest and greatest on, go to Settings>About Phone>Software and check the latest security patch you have.
