Here's another example of Trump cheating the system but it's not technically illegal. So, because, it's not actively illegal, it's fine (and savvy and genius) according to his fans.

At least two out of his three most recent construction projects HAVE USED CHINESE STEEL AND ALUMINIUM.  Plus the loans for those materials come from Chinese banks.  So, while he keeps shouting re-faced to Americans about how he's going to bring jobs back from China to America, he is actually spending hundreds of millions of $$'s buying products from China, including % on Chinese bank loans.

What have you got against Chinese steel and banks...are you some kind of racist?

Yeah, but, um, I work in the industrial field and 99.999% of raw materials come from china regardless of region.

From a business standpoint, makes sense to me, I can't see anything wrong. I see no cheating and no law breaking.

From a presidential debate standpoint, so Trump is a business man and looking to maximize profit. He does this successfully. Now he is running for president, and I would think that this experience as a businessman would give him better experience than "Hill" on how to reduce bureaucracy for US business to actually want to operate in the US again. Let alone pretty much ANY business topic whatsoever trump will be more experienced than "Hill" So yeah next....

There's something called 'principle'.   Trump has none of that.  If you look closely at nearly everything he's broadcast from his pie hole in the past year, you'll see he's either lying and/or hypocritical or flip flopping.

Strange asserts, "From a business standpoint, makes sense to me, I can't see anything wrong. I see no cheating and no law breaking."

Boomer responds:  you fit right in with one of Trump's rare true statements, "I can shoot someone in plain sight on Fifth Avenue and not lose any voters."    Admit it, Strange, there's no revelation about Trump, now or in the future, which will make you fade on being his fan.   Even if it was proven he roughly raped a 13 yr old girl (something he's been formally accused of in legal documents filed in court in L.A.), you would still be standing by his side?

Maybe you don't get it.  Trump has been railing loudly about how despicable American companies are for doing business in countries outside the US.  He says he would fine them and/or charge up to 45% tariffs.  He also promises how he'll bring back US jobs which were lost to China.   Now we find out Trump has not only been buying large amounts of metals from China, but he borrowed the money from Chinese banks, and instructed the Chinese to weave a web of deception to hide the purchases.  Trump is, among other things, transferring hundreds of millions of dollars to China and creating/maintaining Chinese jobs, at the expense of US jobs.   If you want to call me racist for exposing that, go ahead.

Not to be speaking out of school, but to be honest it's quite likely there were some illegal payments to make to those Chinese for such a huge transaction to get the price down and terms right, and hide the origin. That would be the next shoe to drop which would drop kick Trump for possible indictment under the FCPA, except that no Chinese will leak this as it could result in permanent justice against them in today's environment of China try to stamp out corruption.

At least it will be the Chinese banks that will lose out when he can't repay this time in stead of the US banks.

I'd like to see where the nearly billion dollars went. Money isn't just a paper loss.  It goes somewhere.  People focus on income but income is not easily hidden.  The real business shenanigans involve expenses. It would be interesting to see his books more than to see his 1040s.  How much of that lost money went to Trump himself as an expense as we know he paid his contractors on the casinos small fractions of the invoices.  And we have already seen in the campaign how Trump likes to expense rent in his own buildings to his campaign at above market levels.

But again, the anger should be focused more about the corruption in how the US tax code is created rather than upon Trumps business shenanigans.

Trump Tax Attorney: 'He Didn't Understand the Code'

"An attorney who oversaw Donald Trump's income tax returns in the mid-1990s said the Republican presidential candidate had little interest in the tax code — contrasting with the billionaire's claim that he understood taxes "better than anyone" who had run for the White House. "

"As far as I know, and that only goes through late '96, he didn't understand the code," said Jack Mitnick, a former tax adviser for Trump, in an interview with NBC's TODAY."

"Nor would he have had the time and the patience to learn the provisions. That's a lifetime of experience."

Of course he doesn't understand the tax code, and did not in the mid 1990s. He has shown his limited attention span and superficial understanding of every issue he has touched during this campaign, and this would be no different. In fairness, even tax accountants and tax lawyers don't understand the byzantine tax code, so that make his ridiculous and audacious claim even more absurd.

Trump, the King of Absurdity.

I don't think it is absurd. It's a pretty low bar he's set. I'm pretty confident I understand the tax code better than anyone who has ever run for president and what I know is nothing compared to my accountant and tax lawyer.

I'm sure he understands very well how to ask his accountants, FC, CFO, and tax consultants and lawyers how to structure everything so that it avoids as much tax as possible (as any good businessman would do), but I highly doubt he takes the time to really understand how the code works as he simply doesn't have the brain for that. It's obvious.  Hell, I'm sure you do understand the tax code better than anyone who has run for President and better than I do.

My point is that this guy would brag about how his laundry came back to him on time and that showed his brilliance in choosing laundries.

Looking at Trump's sordid history with shafting banks and investors - who shovel money into his projects, and invariably 'take a haircut' ...I reckon he more likely stiff Americans than Chinese.  Here's why:  With Americans, he can sit around a heavy table and shoot the mafia-like shit, like an old boys' club.  With Chinese, he can't. He wants building materials from China (plus a million other items, mostly plastic, like poker chips, laundry bassinets, pictures for walls, kitchen items, etc, ad infinitum), so he doesn't want to bite the hand that provides him with so many cheap products.

Stop trying to make sense and use logic. You are talking to hard-wired Liberals who actually hate Trump - they have no logic and very little sense.

I feel for the hard-wired Conservatives who actually hate Trump but have bent over and taken it up the keister because ultimately and shockingly (but not really surprisingly), the GOP couldn't come up with a viable alternative. The ones that, 'Oooh' and Aaahh' at every doltish, low-brow and boorish Trump utterance while the thought constantly runs through the back of their minds, "I really, really hope he does have a plan."

GOP distances itself from Trump -- again

"As the Republican nominee tries to recover from one of his toughest stretches, few prominent GOP leaders -- other than those who advise him or are on his payroll -- seem willing to launch a full-throated rescue effort."
"Before attempting to reframe his life story as one of resilience and overcoming obstacles, Trump's campaign seemed at the verge of unraveling this week, once again sending GOP lawmakers slinking away from their flailing nominee, as they try to contain the collateral damage to vulnerable House and Senate candidates."
"Somewhat laughably, Trump blamed the fact that he failed to prosecute his case against Clinton in the first debate on a faulty microphone."
It's glorious to watch.

He's an atheist (as are tens of millions of Americans), not a terrorist (though he may strike terror in Trump and his fans, because he speaks the unvarnished truth).

What plane was he kicked off of?  Trump Airlines?  Oh wait, they never did fly, did they?  It was just another giant scam to rip off investors.

That sort of response is expected.  Every day there are new people and organizations for Trump and his fans to hate.  It's like Nixon with his black list.  Name one news organization, other than Fox or Breithart, that Trump doesn't hate.  Trump fans were posting on Youtube, re; the video I posted, commenting on how Cenk (the dark-skinned guy who speaks on the segment) ....looks ugly.  People like me don't care whether he looks as handsome as Tom Cruz.  It's what he says which is important.  It's the research (in regard to the video, Cenk and his team did a lot of research on Trump projects) and conclusions which are important.  Trump and his fans are continually dissing the messengers, because the news is pissing them off.  The truth hurts, for someone like Trump, who's got so many ugly secrets.  That's why he's slapped thousands of gag orders on people who know him, including his 2nd wife.

Another nail in the already substantial coffin for Trump: his own tax attorney said Trump didn't understand jack squat about the tax code, nor did he have any interest in doing so. This is hardly surprising since this phony loves to brag about how great he is and how much he knows about everything, when in fact, the opposite is mostly true.

OMG, you seem to know something about him, to know he used to work at MSNBC.  You and other Trump fans do well to be spooked by Cenk.   He speaks truth with articulation and passion:  a potent threat for people, like Trump, who try mightily to hide things.  I predict Cenk will continue to gain in popularity (unless a 2nd Amender knocks him off, or.....?).  He's a refreshing contrast to ultra right-wing talking heads from Fox (who are supported by Murcoch's billions).  Cenk's associates are bright also.  Ana is a dish, as well as smart as a booster rocket.   Check her out, if you dare.
