Ice skating in Thailand.

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me first hand of recent experiences of ice skating in Thailand, preferably with lessons for a youngster?

I am looking at the Udon rink as a preference, followed by any other rinks.

I have not used it ...just watched skaters...but there is a ice rink in Central Festival Mall in Chiang Mai

Aha. Thanks Mania. CM is on the cards.

Daughter (14 years old) of my friend here is enthusiast for ice skating. None in Phuket but she gets to BKK every two months or so and has a great time at Central World.

I see the Bangkok one might be worth a visit.

We used to visit the rink at Central World, which is fine, but now regularly go to the one in Mega Bangna (Sub Zero).  It's a little bigger and costs less.  The ice isn't ideal in either place, for some reason not cooled enough in Central World, so water accumulates, and not evened up very well in Mega Bangna, a bit dinged up.  For the most part that doesn't make a difference; if you can skate then you can, and if you can't perfect flat ice in an ideal texture won't help you.  Both places seemed to have staffing to offer lessons.

Thanks heaps Honu.

Staffing to do lessons is the main reason. If the kids get a little wet then so be it.

There is an ice-rink and ski school in Rangsit now.

Thanks Kerry.

Silly question, but where is Rangsit?

Bangkok?

Future Park, Rangsit, is about 10kms north of Don Mueang Airport.

Also Bangkok rinks at Esplanade Mall (near Thailand Cultural Center MRT station) and Imperial World Lat Prao (Big C) mall.
