PHUKET:-- Monks from a number of the island’s Buddhist temples will be holding chanting rituals as part of the funeral rites for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej who passed away on Thursday (Oct 13). The rituals will continue until 30 days after the death of His Majesty.

Governor Chockchai Dejamornthan said yesterday, “Monks from Phuket will hold chanting rituals for His Majesty the King for 30 days from Oct 13 when he passed away. The rituals will start at 3:52pm every day as that was the time of His Majesty’s death.

“I invite all citizens and government officials to attended the ceremonies, and I also request that people wear black for the 30 days or mourning,” Gov Chockchai said.
