Administrative order demanding 35 billion baht compensation from Yingluck officially signed

 

 

BANGKOK: -- The administrative order demanding 35 billion baht compensation for damages to the state by the rice-pledging scheme from former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra has been officially signed.

 

According to Ministry of Finance, the order was co-signed last week by the deputy finance minister Visut  Srisuphan, and the permanent secretary Somchai Sujjapongse.

 

Ms Yingluck was demanded to pay 20% of the total damages of 178 billion baht from her rice-pledging scheme.

 

An official notification of the compensation payment will be submitted to Ms Yingluck in one to two weeks.

 

Upon receiving the notification, Ms Yingluck can petition the compensation demand to the Administrative Court.

Is there a special article 44 stamp ?  Past due, attitude adjustment.  Can she pay at 7-11 ?

Now we will see how much Big-Bruv cares for his little sister ! after all, I would say that everyone knows who would have devised the scheme from the beginning, and nice to see the pigeons coming home to roost :)

They will probably find it in Pandora's box along with the UK article 50 version.

 

Strange that the biggest fine ever is the result of an administrative order without any possibility to appeal or review the case by an independent court. And the main court case is still pending, right?

I wonder what they had to promise the two signatories before they agreed to sign?

No problem she can pay in installments well maybe just stalling would work stay tuned.

Let's say she pays it (don't forget to get a receipt)... where does the money go? I mean most Thai institutions are extremely prone to losing stuff, e.g. the military famously "lost" a huge amount of war weapons in the south, the "Flooding Ministry" lost their entire budget some years before this government and just couldn't find it anywhere, the DSI lost any credibility it may have had by it's handling of Dhammakaya and the mystery of a ruptured liver in custody, and the RTP have lost their plot pretty much since its founding and never bothered looking.

Yes but justice is justice. It should be evenly applied. Look at the Red Bull case and many others. Funny that the Junta stripped her of her governmental position and then proceeded to crucify her. The junta wants to stamp out all that is Shin right down to tearing out pages of the history books. Its a modern version of the old sword to sword battles that were fought years ago in the crusades now this is the modern version.

If LoS institutions and leadership was not such a seething cauldron of lies, thievery, nepotism and double standards it would indeed be a good start

 

Unfortunately all this does is highlight said double standards and emphasise the sheer hypocrisy in the way 'justice' is administered, sad really but what else can you expect as a lot of the people in higher positions aint there because of their intellect....

The Junta was not in power when the red bull case happened.

Nothing wrong with stamping out the Shins IMHO, should have been done a long time ago.

Don't agree with the rest of what you said either, don't see the comparison at all.

not really. it is just part of the process of taking out the opposition.  the guys who were involved with the bomb dectector scam got away clean because they were on the right team. this style of selective justice is not effective. it does not send out a message that corruption is wrong it sends out the message it is ok if you believe you are going to get away with it.

Simply setting the bar for the compensation when their turn comes around.

You mention the bomb detector scam? Please. That pales in comparison to the damage the Shinawatra clan has inflicted on Thailand. Yingluck and her thieving brother belong in jail. Period.

...and it also means no leader of Thailand will risk making any decision since if things do not work as planned they would be held financially accountable. 

One can only remember the saying what comes around goes around , and Prayut wouldn't want to have a blowout  he has to remember  the economy is stalling,  maybe that will be recovered some day,  far from being a supporter of the Shins I still can see a trend of victimization , the programme seems to be Cripple the shins , harass the red shirts and students and everyone else will shut up cower and obey,  maybe......................................................

it may have only been about 20 million US$ but the bomb detectors were such an obvious scam, yet no one was ever punished because of who they are.

And probably just about as modern as Thailand can hope to get under this regime
