Hi

Im planning to take my wife (legal and registered) and her daughter (14) to Scotland for a 2 week trip.

My wife has my name on pp and id card. Her daughter has her fathers name although he has passed away.

Ive been on the uk.gov websites checking how to do this. Have any of you guys done this? A quick step by step would be handy.

Thanks.

As you say you have been on the UK government website you have presumably read the Standard Visitor Visa guidance.

Have you also read the pinned topic UK visit visa basics?

The procedure is quite simple.

Gather the supporting documents;

  • evidence of affordability
  • evidence of your relationship
  • evidence that they will return to Thailand after the visit
  • evidence of their accommodation whilst in the UK

Complete and submit online application and pay the fee. You will need to complete one each for your wife and step daughter and so pay two fees.

Make appointment at the UK visa application centre for them to submit hard copy of forms and their supporting evidence. and have their biometrics taken. You will be prompted to do this when you submit the online form. Although they need a form each, they can attend at the same time and you can use the same supporting evidence for them both.

Attend appointment, await result.
