Customer crowned with beer bottle

Assailant admits she went over the top Police were called to an eatery, near the Best Inn in Soi Bukao, after a 64 year old Austrian was found to be bleeding following an assault by a bottle wielding woman. The Thai woman Mrs Laeeat Petlorn, aged 42, said she was just passing with her husband when the Austrian invited them to sit down and join him for a drink. The social encounter did not lead to a lasting friendship.

The Austrian gentleman started talking in a loud voice and included in his statements a number of swear words. Mrs Laeeat tried to advise him that his standards left something to be desired, but this served only to inflame the European Union resident even more.

At length, the Thai woman feeling grossly insulted hit him on the head with a beer bottle which certainly had the desired effect of shutting him up. Police asked the Austrian guy if he wanted to file a criminal charge of common assault but he said “certainly not”. He now admitted he had been guilty of boorish behaviour.

Mrs Laeeat also admitted that she had gone too far in her actions and actually apologised. However, no further social encounters were planned according to eyewitnesses who were agog at these proceedings.

Good for her !! Woke up the rude ba@tard !!

Had she been a lady she wouldn't have known what were swear words and what was not. :o

Just another example of a natives inability to be involved in what amounted to a heated discussion without resorting to violence.

No, the question isn't why didn't she leave; the question is, why would she sit down with a total stranger in the first place!

One wonders if perhaps the temper tantrum wasn't caused by a failure to get more out of this "gentleman" than drinks.

The Pattaya Mail's slant on the story should answer your question.........

Thai wife with bottle attacks her husband’s attacker

Boonlua Chatree

An Australian man who confronted a Swedish visitor in a bar was injured when the Swede’s Thai wife hit him over the head with a beer bottle.

Police were called out at 4 a.m. on November 16 to the Salt & Pepper restaurant located in front of the Best Inn Hotel on Soi Buakhao where it was reported a Thai woman was in a dispute with a foreigner.

At the scene the officers found tables and chairs overturned, and a pool of blood on the floor. An injured man identified as a 65-year-old Australian named Amparis was slumped over a table. He had been hit with a bottle to his right temple, and had a long gash on his head. Mrs La-Iad Petlorm, 43, a resident of Kampangphet, was still holding the blood-stained bottle with which she had hit him, and protecting a man named as Richardson, a 55-year-old Swedish national.

Police questioning revealed that Richardson was drunk and had got into a dispute with Amparis, who was also drinking beer in the restaurant. They started to fight, and La-Iad, Richardson’s wife, tried to separate them. Amparis pulled her hair and flung her away, which was a mistake, for La-Iad flew into a rage, seized a beer bottle, and hit him over the head with it, very hard. Restaurant employees called the police for assistance.

Amparis told the police that he didn’t want to press charges against La-Iad. A Sawang Boriboon Foundation officer applied first aid, and the parties went their separate ways.

Gotta luv that with Pattaya newspapers.

Each one seems to be able to come up with an almost completely different version of the same event.

Maybe they do so it doesn't look like they are just copying another paper's work ?

Maybe they do it so that it appears there is more news happening than is the case ?

Maybe they do it because they think their version sounds better (or will sell better) than the others ?

There could be other possible (and fairly obvious) reasons for it as well (think quality and competence).

But at least it's entertaining on occasion !
