I'd already been aware of the opening of this restaurant, which comes highly recommended, by virtue of being a member of the Swiss Lanna Society.  They had an announcement of the opening on the 29th in their newsletter.  The folks with SLS know their food and I'd take their recommendation seriously.  For those of you who can't decipher the above post, the announcement below may make more sense:

Phillipe was a brilliant chef and a lovely man, I miss the man and his restaurant very very much.

But Fon is also a lovely lady (and their children delightful) and determined to carry on their joint aims in opening and running a high quality restaurant, I strongly suspect customers will not be dissatisfied. I will be there for certain.

I'd say in this context that Fon makes much more sense than Phone.  But hey, ES keep up the chatter if it does you some good.

Properly written usable GPS coordinates (translated from OP) depending on format, they each work in Google Maps:

N18 56 28.6  E98 55 45.1

Temporary suspension leading to banning would be a nice step.

I don't read German and don't understand what Fon and this restaurant have in common, if anything. Most of this post sounds like an inside joke.

I assume this Philippe moved back home and Fon is the ex or co-owner or something. Was Fon a cook?

Is this Swiss food?

Philippe is a talented chef who had to suddenly close his restaurant in Mae Rim, first called Ban Salad and later Chez Philippe, after receiving a grave diagnosis last year-- aggressive cancer. I don't know how he is or where he is today. Fon is his wife/partner.

I ran the SLS newsletter thru Google translate and got this:

Khun Fon, the partner of our deceased sponsor Philippe shall realize the dream of the two and run the restaurant in memory of Philippe.
The menu is similar to the Restaurant 'Baan Salad', based on the Alsatian and Swiss recipes of Philippe and his family.

Khun Fon would be to have you here, at the opening, and even later!

I tried to use Google translate on the O/P but it didn't work as well.
