A New Beginning.

What was your biggest experience of “culture shock” in Thailand? Have you ever had any regrets about leaving your own country behind? What do you do in your free time? Deep down, are you really happy? IMG_3272.JPG.e8b2a948c597f2e6262e7b627f4

-i never experienced any culture shock.

-no regrets at all, au contraire!

-i have no free time and wish the days had more hours.

-i have never been really happy in all my life. but i am very much satisfied and content with life in Thailand.

Coming up to a year now that we have been living here in the village and feeling very much at home, although have really been coming and going for 10 years all up and making plans for the transition, and cannot see myself having any regrets.

No culture shock, and no regrets leaving the old country, actually couldn't wait to get the hell out of the place, we actually brought it forward 4 months.

I have my little routine like drive the kids to school in the morning, its an hour return trip and I enjoy the country drive/scenery, when I return I have my 2nd cup of coffee, surf the net, check the stock market, emails, usual stuff like that, then chill out with the Mrs till lunch, grab a bite from the local, put the young one to sleep while I watch a movie or have a look at some posts on TV, while the Mrs enjoys her gardening, and then its time to go and pick up the kids again.

Back in the old country never had a spare minute to myself working 7/7th of my life away and was very unhappy, now I feel in control of my life and at my pace, the lazy one and financially can survive here till I am 101.

I have a good marriage, my wife is not insecure and doesn't show me what others have in the past, e.g. jealousy, which I can't stand, so I go where n when I please every now and again for a week to catch up with the boys, and the girls 555

Have my cake and eating it too, why not, life is short and no one should have to work over 55, well that's my spill

Great seems you've got everything well sussed out. However, I'm sure it's no walk in the park for everyone .......
