Visa for Switzerland

Featured Replies

Getting info from VFS is not easy, IVR is just self service menus, and no clear email

would just like to check - this old visa for the Mrs, its still valid and can be used?

We went to France / UK earlier this year, and now planning Switzerland and Germany.

I think it can, just want to be sure as we are booking all now

Switzerland and Germany are covered by Schengen Treaty. Should be no problem.

Thanks.... just called VFS, and the girl was dumb as <deleted>. insisted I needed to make an online app before she could answer, and refused to let me talk to a Sup.

I am confident all well, just want a "yes" from someone

thanks for your yes

Indeed everything should be just fine, she can still use that visa.

Her visa is still valid as it is a multiple entry visa so allowing infinite border crossings. She can however not be in the Schengen area more then 90 days per any 180 period. See the sticky/Schengen calculator tool if you fear that she will exceed this maximum. She will also need to have left the Schengen area before the expiration date of 17 april 2017.

Her visa was issued for free and with a minimum of requirements, so at the external Schenngen border all they could ask would be evidence of a legal marriage and that it is clear that you as her EU/EEA spouse travels with her. But carrying insurance, a hotel reservation etc. can do no harm even though such things are irrelevant for the Schengen visa in the case of traveling with an EU/EEA family member to an other EU/EEA member state than the nationality of the EU/EEA national.
