BANGKOK: -- Lady Kai was in court yesterday to face charges of human trafficking allegedly committed against three young women who came to work for her in Bangkok.

She denied everything at the central criminal court in Rachadaphisek saying that she would fight the charges.

The alleged fraudster was looking quite well with color in her cheeks despite the fact that she has been in the central women's prison for the last few months.

She was remanded until May as further evidence and witnesses in the case are gathered, reports Daily News.

Lady Kai - real name Montha Yokratanakan, 59, - also faces the much more serious charge under Article 112 of lese majeste. She denies pretending to be a princess between 2012 and 2013.

She is due to appear in court again to hear those charges for the first time next Monday November 21st at 9am. She could face 15 years if eventually found guilty.

Yesterday she was arraigned in the case of three women who prosecutors said came to work for her at Prachaniwet Condo as housekeepers.

The women are Dalin Lakham, hired from an agency in Pathum Thani, Kanchana Ponglarpsunthorn from Mae Hong Sorn and a 17 year old referred to only as "A".

It is claimed that all three women were forced to work from 5am until 10pm and then were not even paid.

Kanchana was promised an education when Lady Kai contacted her parents but this was also not orthcoming, it was alleged.

The offences allegedly took place between 2006 and 2010.

Lady Kai said that the first and third of the women were employed in the normal way. She claimed not to even know Kanchana or to have even hired her.

Both sides are busy preparing witness statements to back up their claims.

Following the hearing Lady Kai was taken back to jail. Her eagerly awaited next appearance is to face the lese majeste charges next week.

Why keep calling this old hag ( lady )

She has no Royal blood  does she ???

dont think any one would know who she was unless the call her lady in the news. gotta keep calling her that or we will miss her court updates. i figured she must have paid everyone off and walked by now. so she has done 3 months in the clink. sounds like she does not even have the money to post bail.

Forget about all the other charges, to many high ranking people involved.

The 1 charge that will stick is the Lese majeste.

Yes, thats the easiest charge to stick to her as everything can be done behind closed doors and nobody dares to report about it.

No need to figure out who protected her, where the money went, howcome she was not caught before, or why all the people she previously got in jail actually ended up there without a decent police investigation.

A growing number of stories of this genre world-wide always reminds me of the better, less brutal, more compassionate, kind world with less macho-male dominance promised with a more empowered Sisterhood, when they motivated me to march for equality back in the "60s.

Sadly, such "advancement" seems to have  been toward 'sameness' rarher than 'equality' with males.

."Lady" is the English word that has been used with her name, Kai. Perhaps the Thai equivalent is Khunying?

After all, we have Lady Gaga and everyone knows what that is.As others have correctlycommented, the LM charges will stick, even though there are plenty of hi-so bimbos acting like little princesses.

Do not pass GO; return to Tier 3

Not just selling girls into sexual slavery but getting people thrown into jail without due process, the very definitions of Human Rights Violation. She has got to do serious time or don't even expect to trade further with the EU or USA or UK.

Do you really think this case is even remotely reported in the media in any of those countries or member countries?

The spa at the Hilton must be really good. :coffee1:

It may well be, but Lady Kai has never been near the Bangkok Hilton. She's detained at the Pathum Thani womens correctional center where she has obviously just had a facial.

It's possible she could redeem her HHonors points at Pathumthani.

Yes this lady is the gift that just keeps on giving. Some of the news today was a bit dull and then she popped up. Looks like she is not done giving either. Yes I eagerly await.

Why does it matter what you call yourself ? It's what others call you that's important.

Actually, it's not what you or others call you that's important, it's what you are.

Best totally ignore what others call you, and try desperately to avoid the BEE ESS in what you call your Self.

That's one of the several things feminists got wrong. They assumed that since women are less physically violent than men (true) they must be more moral than men (untrue). They also assumed that since women 'create life' (as mothers) they have greater respect for the lives of others. In this, they forgot that the brain acts very much in an us-them mode ... any backwoodsman will tell you that you never want to get caught between a mother grizzly and her young.

What?  What has international trade got to do with this case?

Why is she afraid to face the world if she is innocent? The court should not allow anyone to cover their faces while standing trial or hearing.

What makes you think that she was covering her face during the court appearance?
