Korean jumped from 19th floor of Bangkok condo after playing video fight games

I quit playing video games a couple of years ago, one of the best decisions I'v made, its such a waste of your  life in my opinion, you stare at a screen for hours, it can get expensive ( I wasted so much money on a FIFA Football/Soccer game) it takes you away from reality.

I sold my playstation and games, saved money and went on a solo trip to Bangkok for a week back in 2013, it changed my life, have been to Thailand 5 times now, also Vietnam and Cambodia, travelled around Europe, all within the last 2 years. You only get 1 shot at life so I'm glad I made the change.

I disagree.

Video games, like anything in life, having too much of it is bad. Video games, for many, is merely a hobby. I used to play video games 14-18 hours a day, that's unhealthy, but now I play 2-3 hours a day, and I don't think it is wasting my time or money, it's a fun activity especially with friends. You obviously played too much games to say that it takes you away from reality, when in fact playing video games with other people is a very good way to socialize further with them.

Also, playing video game is one of the cheapest hobbies you can have, alongside collecting stamps. One of my other hobby, riding a motorcycle, is extremely expensive. Just the equipment you wear is around 30,000 to 50,000 baht, a motorcycle can cost 130,000 to 1,000,000 baht, fuel costs, maintenance costs. That's nothing compared to buying a console for 20,000 baht or 30,000 baht for a good gaming PC and be okay for the next 4 years, and only spending around 3,000 baht a month on buying new games. As much as I enjoy riding a motorcycles, it's making me waste a lot of money, as a student, saving up 20,000 from odd jobs and eating noodles is a big deal, and in the video game world, 20,000 is ton of money, it can get make you look like a high roller in some games; but again, 20,000 will only get a good helmet in the motorcycling world.

At least base such lurid accusations about someone who has just lost their child in horrific circumstances upon evidence and not speculative ####.

Why, nobody else does on TV....

I've some flippant rubbish from you enough times.

It is just an alternative thought. There doesn't seem to be any conclusive evidence.

I love how the journalists always make a proper cause to effect demonstration.

Same as with heart attacks and "erectile dysfunction medication was found in the room".

Why don't they say "jumped out of the window after drinking water or having dinner" ?.

You can't trust reporters, most get paid by the number of words printed.

There was no thought in your comment.

I can be flippant, true, but not in the manner or callousness of your post.

I have met plenty of nasty, controlling, conniving and vengeful women.

This kid had just got a degree and at 19 had his whole life ahead of him.

Something made him jump.

His mother was on her way back... I guess he hadn't done the washing up for two weeks or more...

Depression can be caused by lots of things.

Maybe the truth will come out, but I doubt it.

Your past experiences have no bearing on this case.

You have no evidence to back up anything you have said about the mother.

Your post was both callous and unnecessary.

sorry I meant for me personally it was a waste of my time, and I played alone, got angry and stressed when losing in the game, spent lots of money in the online features of a game, of course if anyone enjoys playing video games then by all means do what makes you happy.

You asked if there was any thought behind what I said, I have explained that.

If his mother reads TV I will happily apologize if she can convince me she had no part in his depression. There is no conclusive evidence as yet so it is open to conjecture, I am therefore entitled to my opinion, the same as everyone on TV.

Tell me why you think this kid has taken his own life?

Because he didn't beat the best score on some computer game, or his online girlfriend turned out to be some fat old man in Ohio?

I will continue to tell it as I see it thanks, and give alternative possibilities as I see fit.

Okay guys, you have both played computer games to excess. I loved to play them myself and back in the dark ages I was a champion at the Space Invaders arcade game, and later got into NFS and the football game Total Club Manager.

I have to ask you, now you have other hobbies and are not glued to a screen day and night, what do you think might have made this lad jump off a 19th story balcony at 19 after just getting a degree??

its hard to say, I never knew him and who knows what else was happening in his personal life, maybe he was depressed, had health problems, mental issues, but I really don't know

I don't recall asking what thought went into your post.

I believe I said then, as I say now, no thought went into it.

You'll apologise later if you're wrong about her? Well how magnanimous if you.

You'make callous, baseless, unnecessary claims because you feel like it. But you think it's ok cause you'll say sorry later.

Got news for you, it ain't ok.

Not by any standard of human decency is it ok.

I'm sure this mans mum will be happy to hear she may be portrayed as the one responsible for her sons death but as soon as you have any evidence you'll change your "mind".

I dont know know why this man committed suicide and, unlike you, I don't have any desire to project my own hang ups onto this story by making unproven baseless claims.

Twaddle mate. and you are full of cra# and you know it.

Some of the posts you make are far worse than anything I said about this case. You just trashed a huge part of the world population with your post about about people on the internet, what do you think TV is? It's an internet forum, which makes you a ""netizen" too. Comperndi?

How you can question my doubts about the sort of parenting this lad got when he jumped off the 19 floor, just after me got a degree at the age of 19 (not many do that).

I can see who the Troll is here.

Done with you.

Sad.
