When Honda introduced the Pilot, its sales were off the roof. With the Japanese automaker's introduction of its 2016 model however, sales have not been able to replicate the success of the preceding model and instead seen a steady decline in units sold. Hope is by no means lost for Honda as it turns its bet on the 2017 CR-V, which gears for the best seller stature.

The 2017 Honda CR-V Features

A report from Motoring Crunch stated that the 2017 Honda CR-V will come with an exterior design based on the Civic. There is now better legroom for the rear-seat passengers, thanks to the extra 1.6 inches of space between the front and rear wheels. The body also gains 1.2 inches in length and an extra space behind the rear seats due to the new design.DELETED

2017 Honda CR-V Powertrain And Drivetrain

Democrat and Chronicle reported that the 2017 Honda CR-V is equipped with a 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine as before but buyers now have a choice of going for the 1.5 liter inline-4 turbocharged engine from the Civic model capable of producing 190 horsepower, compared to 185 horsepower of the original. It was also mentioned in the same report that both powertrains will be paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The drivetrain comes in a standard front-wheel drive (FWD) although an option for an all-wheel drive (AWD) is also available for an added yet affordable price.

The 2017 Honda CR-V base trim has a fuel economy rate of 26/33/29 in city, highway and combined respectively. No fuel economy rate is given for the AWD trim but it is safe to assume that its figures are relatively close to the base trim. The 2017 Honda CR-V will retail for $25,000 and will be out next month.

I assume, that it will be available (end of) next year. The prices may be the same.

The new Mazda CX-5 will be available, too and the prices will be similar.

I reckon I'd still take a 2.2 cx-5 diesel over a 1.5 turbo honda. I think overseas markets will get a cx-5 2.5 petrol turbo (250hp), but heard nothing about that for Thailand. It doesn't seem likely as they already dropped the 2.5.

The (unfortunately) didn't introduce the 2.5 l turbo for the new CX-5 at LA show. Maybe, that would be too much for the CX-5?

But the Diesel will be refined (quieter). I very like our CX-5 Diesel.

I am still waiting for the new 7-seater which will be based on the new CX-5.

The new CR-V looks promising and competition is alway good for us costumers.
