Transfer Car ownership - documents required?

Featured Replies

I apologise as I know this has been covered but I cannot seem to find the definitive answers I have read in the past.

What documents are required to transfer the ownership of a car from a Thai person to myself when their name is in the blue book - no finance.

My understanding is I will need a residence certificate and copies of my passport details and visa page. Anything else?

What paperwork/copies does the Thai person transferring need? There is no money involved.

Thanks

You need a sales contract (even there is no real sale), copy of passport (with visa stamp) and proof of residence (yellow book).

The Thai national has to bring a copy of the ID card and the blue book.

Thanks - I presume the sales contract needs to be at least in Thai?

Does anybody have a simple template I can use/modify?

Yes, in Thai.

There are samples on the Internet. Most Thai use these.
