Choose your winter preference with this helpful temperature map

Winter enthusiasts, plan your holiday trip to suit your preferred level of chilly weather. WOW Thailand published a graph showing the lowest temperatures throughout December 2016 in each province.

Head north if you want to feel the coldest weather that Thai winter offers. Only a few provinces, including Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, Naan, Udon Thani, Loey, will experience relatively frigid weather of 11 to 15 degrees Celsius. The rest of north and northeast regions will only expereince low temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Bangkokians will have to keep their cute coats and fleece jackets for when they go on vacation since 21 to 25 degrees will be the coolest it gets in the capital and most provinces in the central, east, and south areas. If you really hate winter, Narathiwat and Yala’s temperature’s won’t drop below 26 degrees Celsius.

11°C = 52°F

I live not far from the dark blue province of Loei

(the Siberia of Thailand ).

And I can tell you that some mornings around year end

here are below 16°C (61°F).

Deepest "lowland" temperature in Loei of last winter

that I remember was 9°C (48°F).

Lowland: of course mountain tops in the north (and also in Loei) are colder.

Currently very comfortable temperatures.

Warm (~32) in the day, cool in the night (~20).

AC is off since months.

But only as the winter residence

During the hot season temperatures to the other extreme (40+), dry though.
