Can I try Bangkok Immigration (Chang Wattana?) when Pattaya Immigration don't want to proceed with my TM87 request? (Income letter - Not possible)

Hello,

Today I tried to use a TM87 at Pattaya/Jomtien/Chonburi Immigration.

They said "NO" to my French Embassy Income Letter. They want only 400,000 bahts in the bank for me because it seems that they can't trust the letter from my Embassy...

Can I try to go at Chang Wattana to get it processed? (hopefully, there will be different rules there about the letter?)

But the condo I rent is in Chonburi city. So it would not be the right office for me?

Sri Racha office didn't accept the letter as well - and asked for 10 more documents than in Pattaya...

Thank you

Alex

Unless you can prove an address for Bangkok in Chaeng Wattana immigration will not accept your application.

You need to have the signature on your income letter verified by the department of consular affairs in Bangkok to apply for a non immigrant visa in Jomtien. You can have it done on the same day you go there if you get there early. An acquaintance went a little late, paid to have it sent to him by EMS and received it the next day.

Map and address for the department of consular affairs in Chaeng Wattans is here.  https://www.google.com/maps/place/Department+of+Consular+Affairs/@13.890438,100.567226,16z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xb74260a43a82bb1e!8m2!3d13.8904384!4d100.5672256?hl=en-US

A translation service in Pattaya may also be able to get it done for you since they go there for translation certifications.

Ubonjoe - regarding the department of consular affairs in Bangkok: No need to travel. I have used their services several times for the last few months and you can do it via EMS and post office payment/transfer for the fees.

Regarding the address in Bangkok: are you 100% sure that I can't do it with an address in Chonburi? My condo owner lives in Bangkok so maybe he could says that I live at his condo?... but it would be better not to because my TM30 registrations are done with my Chonburi address...?

Others have been turned away that had a Chonburi address or one for where there is an office authorized to accept the the TM87 application. If you managed to do it at Chaeng Wattana it would require 2 trips to there 15 days apart to get the visa/entry stamps.

IMO it would be best to get the verification done rather than trying it at Chaeng Wattana immigration.

Thank you Ubonjoe.

But the Immigration Office in Jomtien today said "NO" to this letter. She said I'm 23 years old. I'm young. And I think she is wondering where the money would be coming from. She asked me if "the money was from my government or from work". And anyway 10 seconds later she said the only solution is to have 400k in the bank for 2 months.

So you are asking me to certify the signature of the letter and try again? Even though the Officer said me "NO"??

Sri Racha officer called some Bangkok office to get advice about my TM87 request. He sent my income letter picture via Line app. And he got the answer that I need additional proof of income. But it's not clear about what is needed...

Chaeng Wattana is the same distance from me than Pattaya - and it's still better to go 2 times in Bkk than go to Savhannaket.

Thank you for your help

It always helps to have additional info which you have now provided.

Can you provide any additional proof to them of your income such as a Thai bank book showing the funds coming into the country on a regular basis. Immigration has the right to ask for addition proof of your income. Their primary concern is that you are not earning it here illegally.

Sri Racha can be a difficult office to deal with from many reports I have read. You will just have to try and provide what they ask for,

I don't have any other proof of income.

It's true that Sri Racha is often a difficult place, but today they were better than Pattaya.

Sri Racha provided me with a 2 months extension (marriage) while Pattaya didn't want to because "my condo owner changed his name" and I didn't have proof of ownership of the condo by my condo owner... I provided Pattaya with the rental agreement + signed ID card of the owner + blue book of owner + marriage certificate... etc... but Pattaya said "it's not enough"...

So I have no idea on what to do now anyway regarding this TM87.

It seems like the only solution would be for me to go to Laos? Get a Single Entry? And then try to get a one-year extension at the easy Wife's Isaan Hometown immigration office (which was always easy to deal with...).

You should at least be able to prove your income is coming into Thailand. If not, the thinking you're living from money earned here seems logical.

It looks like immigration wants documents that give proof of your income that is stated in the embassy letter, eg a letter of confirmation from whomever pays your income, preferably with the signature on the letter authenticated by the consular section of the Thai embassy and the consul's signature authenticated by Thailand's Ministry of foreign Affairs. Ask your immigration office if this would be sufficient.

In addition to that, as another member has suggested, evidence of money transfers from abroad to your Thai Bank account and withdrawals from this account as proof that you are paying for your cost of living in Thailand with money from abroad.

The suggestion to use Chaengwattana and use a fake address (condo owners Bangkok address) wouldn't work. As you may recall when you applied for the visa, immigration officials wanted proof of residence (photos etc) plus they should have visited your home as well. Using a fake address is not a solution and is just cheating the system and making it harder for people that follow the immigration rules. Please sort it out legally or give up your marriage visa.
