Thai restaurant in Pattaya

Featured Replies

Hello. Pattaya is great for international food. But where are all the good and inexpensive Thai restaurants? We used to live in Bangkok and had quite a few n ear us such as Krok Mai Thai Lao in Ladprao - but where are similar places in Pattaya? Will be very grateful for ideas. Thank you. C

Where are you in Pattaya?  That would help us narrow down the choices.  Sadly, we don't have near the selection of restaurants here like in Bangkok!

If you are willing to head a bit out of town, there are some great and inexpensive thai seafood restaurants down in Ban Amphur.  Preecha is one of the best.

I'm in Khao Noi. Only been in Pattaya for a few weeks and anywhere near here would be great, if anyone has any recommendations?

The one posted above is one of our favorites.  Very close to you.

Is that chicken noodles or Thai/Isaan food? Someone recommended to my wife Vientian near to us but it wasn't that good. Seemed to be more chicken and chips than 'nam dtok' and 'laap'

It's just we love eating out but while the farang food selection is great, we've yet to find any decent Thai/isaan restaurants - but there must be loads in Pattaya. But where????

You will never go wrong with 7 11 food, its always fresh, consistent and priced right. Enjoy.

Hopefully, others will chime in here, but the selection of restaurants here is vastly different from what you are use to in Bangkok.  This is a tourist town, much smaller than Bangkok, and a large expat population.  Many of whom are retired, so looking for cheaper alternatives.  In our experience, there are not loads of good restaurants here.  Some gems, yes, but not loads.

Will definitely check out Preecha when we get our car back (currently being mended!) but any place we can get to on the scooter would be great.

Plenty around the soi Bukhaow area, try them at random until one fits your ideal

one man,s meat is another,s poison

There's a very good Issan restaurant in South Pattaya named, "Jar Toi".

It's not signed for directions,  but if you take Soi 8 off Threppasit Road and follow that past the Punch & Judy pub you'll come to a right hand bend with a small Soi going off to the left, follow that Soi to the end (a few hundred yards), the restaurant is there on the right.

Very busy place both daytime and evenings (mainly Thai and a few foreigners), reasonably priced, and the decor (outdoors) and service staff are unique (that I've found in Pattaya).

Google street view

There's a small place on Pattaya Tai called Or ah harn Thai that I like.

If you're walking away from the beach it's on the left handside not far past the temple.

If you get to Cucumber restaurant then go back across that side road & it's few doors down

Kiss is the best choice in Pattaya.

4 or 5 kiss restaurants it seems.

just in your Soi Kao Noi - about 500m from the rail way coming on the left about 2 shops after 7/11,  the name " Lan Rueng Aroi..." very good and inexpensive food, 45 - 95 THB for most meals, very clean and even English speaking staff (think Farang involved in management)

Seriously, Kiss!?!?

How long have you been here? To say it's c**p would be too complimentary!

Agree, Kiss is where we end up when the GF says she doesn't want Thai food, tonight we will have western food. The food is fine and well priced, but any Thai dishes are the dumbed down western version of Thai food.

I have seen a few on Central road. Can't remember where exactly, but probably near Big C.

Are you wanting "proper" restaurants or the hole in the wall sort where the poor people eat?

I also ate in a Thai restaurant on the Naklua Rd near the soi that goes down to the big hotels on the beach.

Kiss on Second was fine for cheap eats. It still serves same food, but the prices went up a lot, so no longer good value.

Thinking about it, the food courts usually serve all sorts of Thai food. Nice one on top floor of Royal Garden, or at least there was a few years ago.

Usually, at any restaurant, they serve me the food that I want, not what they want, so when I order Thai food in Thailand, speaking Thai, I get the real Thai food and not any western version...

We tried that a few months ago.  Portions were very small and a bit expensive for what you got.  Service wasn't that good.  Right on a very busy road.  We liked the pond in the back, but the food was just fair, in our opinion.
