DTAC postpaid data add-ons: Experiences / details please

Hi all,

I am on the same DTAC postpaid contract since more than 10 years and have no intention to change. For data, I use a different SIM/provider.

Once in a while, DTAC sends me links to add-on offers tailored to my needs (so they believe) by SMS. After opening the page, using my log in credentials, some tempting offers pop up and it looks like great value for money. Unfortunately, even when clicking on "more Info" there is actually very LITTLE info. For example, they don't tell you if this is a one-off package that needs to be renewed every time, or if this is a recurring plan (which I don't need and can sometimes be a nuisance to cancel). As well there is zero info on which speed they give you.

Did anybody sign up for those offers recently and if so, what is your experience?

I know I could call the DTAC hotline or show up at a DTAC store (poor English spoken usually unless it is Chiang Mai Central Airport branch or Siam Paragon BKK branch), but before I do so, I would like to know more details and learn from experiences of people who actually used these add-ons in the past.

Thanks

I have a postpaid subscription which includes 1,95 Gb of data. Some time ago I ran out of data. When buying I thought i would buy an additional 1 Gb for 99 Baht, but it appeared that I had subscribed. So now every month automatcally 99 Baht is added to the bin.

Need to change it I know, but need to find out how.

My best guess is that these are targeted promos for those who might be approaching their post-paid monthly data allotment plan cap? These same options show up in the mobile DTAC app., under "Promotions".

So they would be one-time, and the fee plus VAT would be added to your monthly bill. There would be no speed cap. They are meant to tide you over at full speed until your next billing/service period begins, and to avoid falling back to some cap speed limit.

Thanks for your input, but as you said this is your "best guess", I still hope somebody is actually using one of these plans and can shed the light

Been postpaid on DTAC for 5 years.

I subscribe to an unlimited internet package with the smart phone plan.  The first 8 gb is 4g speed, if you use more than that the speed will be reduced, but still no problem to stay online 24/7 .

I pay 599 baht monthly including phone calls, sms and data. + taxes total 630

From the website :

Main package:

Super Non Stop 599Baht/month Net Always On 8GB, Free Call 300 min Free Wifi Excess call rate 1.5 Baht/min, SMS 1 Baht, MMS 5 Baht
599.-

I'm on this same plan, in addition any unused data (up to 8 GB) rolls over to the next month for a max. of 16 GB, so I have never approached my cap, although I may this period.

For me with 7% VAT it's closer to 642 THB; calls to 4 digit (call center) and 02 are not included in the base minutes.

As these promotions say "Get more internet volume" I think my guess may be reasonable?

Been with them 5 years absolutely fantastic the 3g wasnt all that good but the 4g is blazing, regularly get 70mb/s and for 599 i get 300 minutes, 8gb and for12 months i get 8gb free so thats a total of 16gb, cant beat that for 600 baht
