Dishonest headline in the story. Le Pen is calling for stopping school funding for ILLEGAL immigrants. Why is it leftists cannot or will not acknowledge the difference between people coming to a country LEGALLY and people coming to a country ILLEGALLY.

Right now EU countries are only achieving relatively  small numbers for deportation of those found to be illegal economic migrants. There have been policies sounded out for Govt to Govt agreements for returning 'illegals', but talks are progressing very slowly; also applies to establishing asylum seeker processing facilities offshore in countries such as Tunisia (obviously Libya is currently not feasible).

 

Cutting to the chase, children of 'illegals' can be stuck in limbo in the EU for years. IMO it is an extremely stupid policy  disenfranchising innocents from education which will exacerbate social problems.

Thanks for your perspective. To me, that screams for the system to work quicker to deport illegals more loudly than any obligation to spend money on them.

About time someone do something about these illegal immigrants.  Most of them are only there for economic reasons, not integrating into the community and sucking up much resources. Why tolerate them? They should be deported.

As a "guest" in Thailand I receive ZERO for free from the Thai taxpayer. If I brought my children here I would not expect that they would get free education.

I am here LEGALLY, and I get nothing for free, so why should an illegal immigrant get freebies in France?

Anyway, even if an refugee is allowed to stay in France, I assume it is only till the situation in their country is safe and they will be sent home, so they aren't expected to integrate.

 

BTW, even if I go home I get free hospital care because I paid taxes all my working life. Illegal immigrants paid nothing into France, EVER.

 

What I get from the OP, is that socialists love spending other people's money.

It is well known that if a Brit lives outside the UK they don't get free NHS care. If they go back just to get hospital care for free, and intend to leave after they have no sympathy from me if they get a bill. They should have bought insurance to cover that, or be prepared to pay.

 

That it is a terrible injustice that people paid in all their working lives and retired should not get NHS treatment anyway is a subject for a different thread.

You say you get zero for free, but you use the roads, pavements, infrastructure which is all paid for from Thai tax payers money.

We are talking about ILLEGAL immigrants here. They should not be there in the first place, and giving free education to their children could in itself be a reason to come to France.
