Phuket traffic cop dies after nine days in ICU

PHUKET: Police have confirmed that the Phuket City traffic police officer who crashed his car into chain barriers circling Heroines Monument on Dec 1 has passed away.

 

Thalang Police’s Lt Col Sanit Nookong confirmed to The Phuket News today (Dec 10) that LCpl Thanakorn Jimjuan, 23, died whilst in the ICU at Vachira Phuket Hospital at 11:30am this morning (Dec 10).

 

LCpl Thanakorn was admitted to the ICU at Vachira Phuket Hospital after crashing his car into chain barriers circling Heroines Monument on Dec 1.

When people were attacking him earlier with unsubstantiated theories, a statement was released indicating that his condition was dire.  I guess this confirms that.

If he was driving illegally in some way we will likely never know. On the up side it's seems no one else was involved in the accident.

Looks like a reasonably modern car. Reasonable damage but have seen people survive worse. No airbags? No seat belt wearing? Are you sure he was a Police Traffic Officer? They are competently trained and fully understand safety and correct driving techniques OR do they? :whistling:

Expensive looking car for a police officer. I have seen cars damaged far worse than this and drivers/passengers survived. Still another wasted life. R.I.P.
