Amazingly, while shopping for an international fare from BKK to Oz I have

found out that you get different lower fares, sometime up to 20% lower

if you clear your browser cookies, that because the booking algorithm

knows your habits and preferences' and always, but always will give you

the higher fare, try it.......

My VPN provider even advertises with this (potential) feature.

A simple way to avoid cookies is using the "private browsing"/"incognito window" feature of the browser.

Name varies depending on browser.

With this neither cookies are readable nor will they be written/stored.

One advantage of using this feature is its ability to by-pass the "number of free articles" limitation on some newspaper sites. Just access the site using "private browsing" and you can read as much for free every month as you like

I always use private browsing if I'm looking at flights from companies like Easyjet, Ryanair etc, but what about if you're using a site like Momondo, where you get lists from different airlines with different timetables etc? Do they track your browsing history and price accordingly? I must admit I don't use my VPN or private browsing when I check Momondo. I figured that with so many permutations they wouldn't do tailored prices, but maybe I'm wrong.

Opinions / experience?
