Searching for a good value buffet in Bangkok...

- ideally about 2500 thb per person including food and drinks or 1500 without drinks

- ends 1am or later

- ideally open space: garden, terrace etc

I'm aware of the lists on http://bk.asia-city.com/ but it's far just few listings. And dear Google prefer to list any garbage rather than small businesses websites.

So far the best I've found

Bayoke Buffet http://www.baiyokebuffet.com/promotion/contentdetail.aspx?pid=203

- 900 thb food if paid by tomorrow

- the buffet has very mixed reviews

Pullman Grande Sukhumvit

THB 2,500++ per person including free flow soft drinks

15% discount if paid before 25th

add THB 800++ per person for free flow beers, house wines, sparkling wines and cocktails, or THB 1,200++ per person for free flow champagne

Complimentary one glass of sparkling wine to toast for the New Year at InBlu bar.

- one of the best buffets in Bangkok

Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld

The World and Ginger: Grand Deluxe New Year’s Eve Dinner Buffet with free-flow wines (Dec 31) B2,700++ per person

Centara Watergate Pavillion Hotel Bangkok

Café 9: Extensive buffet dinner with live music (Dec 31, from 7pm) B2,015++ per adult including free-flow wine and a glass of Lombard Champagne

Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit

57th Street: New Year’s Eve gourmet buffet (Dec 31) B2,600++ per person, or B3,500++ per person with wine buffet. Free entry to the NYE countdown at Octave Rooftop Bar for the first 60 guests.

Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn

a countdown party with free-flow food and drinks (B2,200 net) at Sky Lounge - can't find any info or pictures on the Sky Lounge

Anyone knows about some smaller restaurants with good atmosphere and value?

Tonight we had christmasdinner in Sizzlers, just when the steaks arrived we got several crying babies around our table. They cried very loud and never stopped. When they got food they threw it all around over the floor and one even puked under their table.

Find a place where Thai families with babies are not allowed or you'll regret it.

I went to one of those high priced, B2000+/pp NYE hotel buffets several years ago and found it to be stuffy and boring....a room full of strangers with kind of an enforced and awkward  gaiety.  It was a semi-free flow booze affair and by midnight, most of the older Asian men (Thai? Chinese?) were drunk and groping any women within reach.

Never again, just not worth it.

A good meal at a nice restaurant then finishing the year in a decent pub does it for me.  I've done NYE at Bourbon Street in Ekkamai twice and we very much enjoyed ourselves.

sizzler, oh the thais' love sizzler. i was taken there once by a GF, the food seemed to be mainly of the processed variety and was tasteless, the salad on the salad bar had seen better days. awful place. expensive too.

The Drunken Leprechaun. Enjoy a special drinking deal on December 31st wherein all guests will get a 4-hour beer buffet (Singha or Asahi), priced at just B1,000. The beer promotion runs from 9pm to 1am. There will also be a complementary roasted piglet on offer, from 9pm onwards

Not bad, but not for us...

I believe there is a difference between "good value" and "inexpensive"

It is definitely inexpensive, it may or may it be a good value depends on how it goes.

that it's (apparently) an Irish establishment makes it that much more attractive...it might be worth 1,000 just to be there the last five minutes...

To the OP I would use the app to find out where you can eat and go there. I am pretty sure it against the forum rules to post a link and with a certain Mod dying to send me to the naughty corner again, I will leave it to yourself to find it. When you do you will be spoilt for choice. Enjoy.

There must be so many places in Thailand that do not allow Thai families in them.
