Where to get precious and semi-precious stones polished?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know a jeweler or gemologist that can polish some precious and semi-precious stones? They are all set in jewelry and don't need to be removed. They just have some light surface scratches and blemishes and need a light polishing.

Thanks in advance.

If you're in Bangkok there used to be gemstone shops and manufacturing jewelers down Silom Road near the Holiday Inn.

No one will polish stones that are in setting already, google for gold/silver

cleaning cloth and jewelry and stones cleaning methods, that the

best you can do under the circumstances....

electrified,

I don't know how "polished" the effects may be, but my wife has her jewelry "shined up" at Gems on the road to Sankhampaeng.  It may help if you know someone that works there.

Many thanks hml367. Is that the name of the business "Gems"? And how far down the road (about) is it?

Thanks NancyL. If the other place doesn't work out I will try it. I did go there twice in the past for some other matters but got the impression from the ladies running the shop that only the owner does any of the work. He/she was not in both times. And the ladies could not offer any advice or give an estimate, so I found it to be a waste of time. They also seemed to indicate that "it may be expensive there". I found it quite odd for a Thai business.

almost to the Shinawatra silk place at the intersection, and across from the newer educational supplies store.

I should add my wife's jewelry is mostly from Gems. That is why I said good to know someone.

Good luck!

electrified,

I sent you a PM
