Internet TV doodads--which works best in Chiang Mai

There's Roku, Fire TV, Android Box, and probably a few others, all that can supplement or replace overpriced cable.  Does anyone have any experience using them with the hit-or-miss internet service in Chiang Mai?  Any recommendations?

I have android box and the cheapest 3bb internet option. Currently watching live news from U.K. With no buffering. You can find almost anything ever made on kodi.

I just use a windows Mini Pc, connected to Tv,via HDMI,and there

is so much content out there, just google, streaming tv,it also depends

what you want to watch, U.S. or UK content, movies, series, news, everything

is easy to find, except Live Sports.

I also have an Android box ,but find the Windows PC easier to use,

I have a Amazon Firestick with Kodi loaded on it. Works fine. Just make sure you're not to far from the router, or you may need a wifi extender.

I am using Android box for couple of years.
There are plenty of free apps with excellent service for free:
- Cloud TV - many TV channels from all over the world. However, many channels are not working or working slow, some channels are working good.

- Show Box - for newest movies and TV shows - works great !

- Kodi - I would not recommend. It is and excellent app, but not in Thailand I guess. Many Kodi services are located in the US or in Europe, which will give you a lot of buffering. Also many things on Kodi doesn't work.

I really recommend couple of paid services like :
- IlikeHD - Thailand based, cheap packages, excellent quality, never buffering. They also have free package with thai channels in excellent quality.

- Netflix - I think Thai Netflix is Thailand based ? Not sure about it, but it is working great. Cheap packages, many movies and TV shows also come with thai subtitles.

I've found Kodi to be great.  One of the main problems is that you need to keep on top of the O.S software. and get as much RAM as possible.

Kodi is an ongoing build and updates are quite regular.  I was running a build/update called Kodi Titanium and it was fantastic. No requirement to pick your stream when looking for the latest movies. But unfortunately my android box is a bit too old to handle it all.

Lots of info on the net and advice as to what specs to look for if going the Kodi route.  Seen quite a few android boxes in Icon IT plaza and the Plaza in front.
