What did you get for Xmas/New year?

Featured Replies

I got about 8 tins of cookies, mostly from S&P, a coffee mug, new socks, 2 bottles of red Italian wine, a medium sized gift basket full of coffee, biscuits, corn flakes, etc. The list goes on. What about you? Did you get anything nice? Please, do tell.

A train set, some lego, otimus prime transformer, hot wheels batman car, a playstation 4 and some glow in the dark stickers for my bedroom.

18 bottles of assorted wine, an iPad pro and an electric meat mincer/grinder..

Much the same of many a thing all the year round.

A set of Superman pyjamas.

I kid you not, my Brother in the UK got my parents to bring them over for a wind-up.

So obviously I had to try them on & send him the pics [ok I'll confess, they're bl@@dy comfy [emoji14]]

I got the same present this Christmas that I have received over most during the past decade with my lovely wife. FA!!!

^LOL same, I got sfa.  Got a hangover for a present on boxing day though.

Go Pro Hero5 and suction cup mounting kit for my Moto. What was really nice I expected nothing.

In fairness though, I do not feel the need to have a specific holiday that I am required to buy people gifts. I prefer sharing things year round. Not a scrooge or anything like that, I just find it more enjoyable and rewarding sharing anytime during the year as its unexpected and people clearly appreciate it more.

Glad to just be alive, had a close one in October but survived. Expect nothing material from people close to me.  Biggest gifts is a big hug and kiss from the wife and son.

I got nothing.

I don't have any friends or family.
I don't have anyone.

The silver lining in your scenario is that you can buy your own gifts. Never a wrong size or missed hint.

Works for me!

I dressed up as Santa Claus and went to an orphanage with a pickup full of presents. As part of a charity I help out sometimes. 4 hours in a Santa Suit. At the end I felt like the guy in Bad Santa the movie. Sick to death of kids and gagging for a beer.

The Labor Dept. just called.

Your volunteer activity is outside the boundaries of your Work Permit. Any skinny, black-haired Thai can do that job.

Around 4 pounds of additional weight...

I got a Christmas hamper but I gave it my folks as had it sent to their place in uk. I got a masterpan from a client but I had that sent to them too. Nifty bit of cooking kit great for a fry up I hear.

A very nice turkey and ham dinner with my GF and my Thai family. First Christmas for my GF so we did the 12 days of Christmas with her opening a present every day. I got a cookies, a tee-shirt and a pair of shorts and both fit. To me it remains the season of giving and it gives me great pleasure to watch Thais open presents.
