Current situation (flooding) on Koh Phangan

Featured Replies

Hi all,

my brother arried today in Surat Thani scheduled to take a ferry to Koh Phangan. They told him no ferries today but tomorrow should be fine. Does anyone on the island know the current situation and has any advice? Should he try to go at all or better turn around and head north somewhere? Appreciate any info.

Cheers,

I drove the length of the south coast, around Thongsala, and a little bit of the west coast today. No problems. When the rain stops, even for a few hours, the water usually drains away fairly quickly.

Its been nasty as hell but is receding. Ang thong and koh tao visible today, would seem the storm has broken. Lots of damage up north both toward chaloklam on the inner road and thong nai pan, thansedet bound.

Hopefully its over.
