Hello TV members. In the past I have applied successfully for visas to the U.K. for my wife and her children. I always went through the Visa4uk site. This time however, I was directed to the new Gov.uk website. Which site should I use? Have any of you used the newer service? Is it better? Also, I cannot re-set my password on the visa4uk website, have any of you experienced this?

Have a good evening, John.

Just logged in here as well:-  https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome

No suggestion of being directed anywhere else.

Top right hand corner is a tab for change password once you have logged in. There is also the option to use 'forgotten password' before log in.

Thanks for  replying, I cannot reset my password, the link email they send me never works, tried many times.

On the visa4uk website they have a link to the new website on the page you linked me. I quote... We are currently updating our online visa application service. You may be able to apply using our new service for visit visa applications if you are applying for a: etc.etc.

Just wanted to find out if its ant good to use as I still cannot reset my password.

Apply for a UK visa says

You can apply using the new service for:

  • Standard Visitor visa
  • Marriage Visitor visa
  • Permitted Paid Engagement visa

Notice it says "can" not "must."

If you do follow the link you will have to create a new account.

But that page also says

Sign in to Visa4UK to apply if you already have an account.

Just successfully logged in to my Visa4UK account; twice. First time via rasg's link above, second time via that link.

The last time I actually used it for an application was nearly two years ago.
