Would like to move into condo tomorrow in Chiang Mai.  Owner in BKK.  Her friend will have lease and keys.  Owner and friend have no experience with TM30. Can she mail in TM30? (postage date stamped within 24 hours)  Condo mgmt will not do for her.

The other option is for her to do Power of Attorney and mail to her friend but we will be past 24 hours (unless we fudge the lease start date to match).

I am here on a Tourist Visa and would like to do 30 day extension so I assume I will need my TM30 done properly; otherwise I would not worry about it.

I don't believe it can be done by mail.  And it can't be done online unless one (landlord, hotel, whatever) is registered with Immigration and their online system is working (which lately hasn't been the case).

A good friend got a 30-day extension to his Tourist Visa about 10 days ago and nothing was mentioned about any TM30 and he had no receipt for any such filing in his passport (and he doesn't believe one filed for him).  Now, whether the non-mention was because they don't require it for extending a Tourist Visa or because their computer filing system was down (which it in fact was then and may still be?) or because that particular Immigration Officer didn't care, god/Buddha only knows.

Hey Bill,    did you receive a receipt back in the mail.     If not, your TM30 was probably used as a basketball and thrown in the trash...

I mailed my TM 30, no problem.

If so, first I've heard of it up here.

So what you're saying doesn't cause confusion:

(1)  What was it you mailed in, your original (first) TM30 or the stub (Receipt of Notification) you already had?

(2)  If it was your original (first) TM30 filing, did they send you back the Receipt of Notification?

(3)  If you were just mailing in an existing Receipt of Notification for an update, did they send that back to you with another stamp and date on it?

(4)  If you were only doing an update and in fact got back your Receipt of Notification with another stamp and date on it, how many days after you re-entered the country did you actually mail to Immigration?

Sorry, folks, that I even asked Mr. Bill the questions.

Has anybody else actually (1) filed an original TM30 by mailing to CM Immigration and, if so, did you get back a Receipt of Notification or anything else? or (2) filed an update by mailing (by, presumably, mailing in your Receipt of Notification) and received anything back?

4) NA

Do you have a receipt of notification of your TM30  in your passport that you sent by mail to Chiang Mai immigration and if so did you receive it back by post?

Thanks for the replies. There were alot of moving parts on this move as it was with the owner remote and so decided in the end to not worry about the TM30 right now.  Will just eat the 1600 if necessary when the time comes.
