Sorry, will be for an exterior wall.  Thx

Do you want one who lines up the joints on the blocks or staggers them, because there are many thousands of the former and only a few of the latter, as far as I can tell/

Hi. Looking for an average cement wall.  Nothing flash, but strong.

Just simple to keep the dogs in and Not fall down in a couple of years.

Ask around your neighborhood.  There is probably somebody or a crew nearby that could do an easy job like that.  You could also probably see examples of their work nearby.

You might also let us know where you are because if I tell you about my guy in San Sai and you are in Hang Dong, no benefit because he would not go there for work.

Ok thanks Dante.  We had a quote for about 2000 per metre, which seems a hell of a lot.

But yes I think if we ask locally and see there work, might be a way to go.

cheers.

2000 b/m is not out of line but how high? What kind of block/brick? Steel? Paint? .....

There are a lot of variables.

Something like this. Not this height.  About 1.2 m from the ground.  Breeze block and rebar.

We have about 140 m to do so don't really want to be paying 300,000 but if it can be avoided.

Thanks for reply

2000 baht per meter is extortionate...

In Tasala, near the railway station,  we had a 2.5 meter high wall built for 750 baht/ meter , with us supplying the materials.

Currently a neighbour is having a 2 m. high wall built for 900 baht/ meter inclusive.

Thanks, if I could get the details I would really appreciate.  I will send you a message.

So cheap, was it chapped and painted?

Here you have a prime example of Moobaan Karnkanoks build quality... When the foreman arrived I in shock pointed to the blockwork and he was like 'thumbs up' yeah great wall huh ??

But how high ??? I was quoted 2800 for 1.8m high with pillar (every x m.. cant remember now).

I had nearly 450m perimeter to wall so it was a million baht almost and I left it.

Seems way under every price we found...

Foundations ?? Steel ?? pillars ?? block + render ?? and labor for 900 ??

We live in a Thai neighborhood and they would not pay 2000 B/M and certainly not 2900 B/M. If you want to pay "rip off" Farang prices, don't let me stop you...

yep....that is extortionate.

with your facts now the OP can get out his pencil and make a list of different costs for different heights.

I spoke to a local couple about a wall they were building, labour only was 600bt/linear metre for 1.5m high. (not m2)

I thought <deleted> to that I will do my own so I know the real cost.

my first attempt at a rear boundary wall 14m long and 1.6m high fromdigging out the foundations to rendering it all one side. I used q con blocks and 100mm pre cast posts.

the materials cost 5781bt=413bt/metre run

and as a another guide I thought it interesting to charge myself at 1000bt per day; remember on my own, no help, first time wall.

By the time I had finished the total was 1065bt/m run for a 1.6m high wall diy!!

So; where these jokers arrive at figures of 1500/2000 per metre run is beyond me. they have experience and certainly extra speed with a labourer.

Essentially most quotes you get will be giving themselves 2000bt a day easily... and then they buy blocks for 6bt, I bought blocks for 17bt because they are cheaper but no one see that.

If anyone asks for more than 1200bt per linear metre (all in rate)for a wall 1.8high then you need to question why?

I would get a labour only rate of around 500bt lin m and buy the materials yourself.

I disagree, I think thats a fair and honest cost....and I proved it
