Bangkok’s motorists and bus commuters are warned to brace for traffic gridlock for up to four months on the in-bound Phahonyothin road from the Thai Military Bank head office to the Victory Monument in order to facilitate the construction of supporting pillars of the Green Line electric train project.

Starting after midnight tonight, traffic police will block off two lanes of the in-bound road. However, during the rush hours, traffic police will open one or two traffic lanes of the out-bound road to ease in-bound traffic, said Pol Lt-Gen Wittaya Prayongphan, assistant police chief in charge of traffic.

On top of that, traffic police may partially demolish the road island to expand the road surface to ease traffic congestion.
