Universal Channel Asia, how to watch?

Recommended Posts

Surprisingly the management of my apartment changed their cable TV provider.

From unknown to I guess something with True because now I have 3 or 4 true channels.

The worst thing is I can't find Universal channel Asia and SyFy apart from some other good movie channels in Thai.

So how can I watch my beloved Universal channel again?

I don't have fast or reliable internet connection so it would only be satellite (my balcony facing straight south) or terrestrial.

Any advice appreciated, thanks!

Sorry if you've already done this, but have you done a "channel scan" where the TV takes a few minutes to scan frequencies to pick up all the available channels?  Maybe SyFy and Universal are assigned channel numbers that weren't selected on a scan on your previous cable provider.

You might not have True cable TV service.  There is (was?) a local cable provider in Hua Hin that provided a couple True-branded channels.

If all else fails, can you ask at the apartment building management office (front desk?) if they have a listing for the channels from the new provider?  When my condo switched to TMN Cable in Jomtien, they had a stack of glossy channel guides on the counter.

Another thing I learned about TMN Cable that I didn't realize at first:  They have two different sets of channels for analog and digital.  I had to change some setting on my TV to scan for the digital channels.  There were quite a few more digital channels than analog.

Hey CLW, did you find a way to get the Universal Channel? I've just moved apartments and my gf is doing her nut because we now don't have this channel. All I can find is that it's not supported in Thailand and can't find any internet TV site that has this channel.

Let me know how you got on.

I don't know where to view the Universal Channel Asia live, but all the shows they air or have aired in the past an be watched on demand in Kodi, from the very first episode to the one released an hour ago.

Syfy can be watched live through several free addons, or again every show they have ever released on demand.

Nothing new for the cable TV. I did a new scan button but no results.
Right now I'm downloading from torrent Chicago PD, Chicago Fire and Shades of Blue because that's the series I usually watched.
For other sources of Universal channel for TV reception I couldn't find any information.
Wikipedia says it's not available in Thailand.
That is even more surprising because they all had Thai subtitles

Unfortunately I don't have fast internet either, so streaming isn't an alternative.
I download now from torrent at another place and watch at home.
Btw, on Netflix is it possible to save movies offline?

Depends what you call fast internet, for live streams 6Mb is sufficient, for the tv shows on demand you may get away with half of that.

Tv shows on Kodi, on which Netflix World is free, you can record  your movies and tv shows and save to HDD.

And you can automatically add subtitles in the language of your choice to the downloaded file.

Regarding your torrents as opposed to streaming, take a look in this new thread.
