It would be a disaster for some posters here if the poor girl would be found because their guessing and thumb sucking would be obsolete.

No, it wouldn't be,because we all HOPE she is alive and well!

Take your trolling elsewhere!

Plenty of posters here are a disgrace how they comment on the ability of Thai police!

Everybody knows that the royal thai police are great. Just like everybody knows that there is no mafia on Koh Tao.

Does anyone know the name of her resort, or who the owner is .

The owner's name is Sittipon  Patawee Srisuda  and the place she was staying is called The Koh Tao Hotel. He said she stayed in a room with 6 beds ( a dorm?) and he last spoke to her about 17.40 on the 15th.

What other reason is there for championing an institution which has zero credibility among the vast majority of Thais and farangs alike?

What have the police done wrong in this case?

They've searched the sea.

They've found her 'dive buddy.'

What else should they have done?

At this point, it's premature to say if they've done any of those things right or wrong. Though the amount of time it took the island police to take action on Valentina's disappearance stinks. Particularly in view of the fact that they are socially active on the island, working as dj's and suchlike, and involved with business owners on a day-to-day basis.

Is this Royal Thai Police bashing or trolling ??

The news said she was staying in a  room with 6 beds. Assuming this is a dormitory, I assume again each bed has a locker in which to keep valuables.Could this be a factor by which her absence was overlooked? One person out of 6 in a room doesn't check out the day they have paid to would not send alarm bells ringing immediately.

If she had a locker, she will have had a key from the hotel for it. Knowing Thais and their property, her not checking out and not returning the key would have at least aroused the management's curiosity. The notion that nobody noticed she had gone missing, on an island that size, is preposterous.

I would expect in a dorm people change plans all the time. Some stay longer if they're enjoying themselves, others may visit friends and stay there. She wrote in her diary her medicine was running out. and she needed to go to Bangkok to stock up .For all we know she could have gone to Bangkok with someone on a whim, thinking she would be back in a day or two and left her stuff behind.

Without her passport which was also left behind! Somehow doubt she would head to Bangkok leaving that

She might well have done if she was just going on a round trip to buy medicine and then back. But who knows the state of her mind and who she was with?

Were there other people in the room she shared with 5 other beds? But of course they could be anywhere by now, in Thailand or abroad.

Yes I must have been dreaming, its a real possibility that she headed to Bangkok, without her passport, without her phone or anything else, apart from her fins and mask that she decided to take.

Not no mention the idea that the guest house management would just forget about a missing key! They would be straight in the locker.

Good point, so she went diving and never came back?

What missing key? They would assume she had it and just hadn't come back yet.

Nope. Once past checkout, they would be miffed that the key hadn't been returned. It was their property.

A dormitory- 6 beds. I wouldn't be surprised if people check out late all the time on the islands - having a great time etc. Perhaps she had her own padlock on the locker and the management assumed she just wasn't back yet.

Then they would be miffed that she was using their locker after she should have checked out.

You should apply for some kind of a job with the rtp.

I think you're overestimating Thai dedication to punctuality.

But if you assume the Koh Tao Hotel are miffed and then do nothing, are you not implying they know more than they're saying,?

..trouble is the police don't keep their investigation progress to themselves..all this hype and speculation causes so much extra grief.
