Where To Find Cigars In Bkk ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just returned back from BKK after my 3 days trip. During my stay I tried to buy some cigars ( normal priced cigars ), looked at number of places and stores all over BKK, but could not find a single place selling any kind of cigars.

Please advise that are cigars available in BKK or not ?

Further, during my stay ( though very short ) I did not come acorss a single tobacco shop. Are there any specialized tobacco shops in BKK ?

Thanks

Andrep

Plenty of cigars in the pharmacy on Sukhamvit just on your left as you come around from NEP (the larger pharmacy of the two)

If your near Sukhumvit soi 19 area you can go to Robinsons dept. store. They have Cuban Cigars in a standup Humidor in the basement wine shop. :o

Cuban's? Really?

I know there is a small cigar shop in the J.W. Marriott hotel on the ground floor.

I bought some there the day my daughter was born nearly 4 years ago. They had a surprisingly good selection. Best cigar I ever smoked!

I have a friend who ships them from Spain - I think Cuban and all the best ones are cheapest this way.

Exactly on which soi [or between which ones] would this pharmacy be, please?

You can get Cuban over the counter tubed cigars (250 TB) at the Foodland on Sukimvit Soi 5. The wine shop up stairs at Emporium has them to, They also have some nice Montecristo Cigarellos for 800 baht for 20. The best place I have been is the quiet little cigar shop in Pattaya on second road, They have A nice collection of cigars and A leather sofa with A couple really nice girls there to talk to if you want to sit around and have A smoke.

You can check out Siam Havanas website and order A box delivered to your room if you dont have time for shopping.

Siam Havana Cigar

If you go around the corner from the Foodland all the Arab restraunts have the big waterpipes with fruit flavored tobbacco for around 150 TB which is A pretty good smoke but not for everybody.

Gaysorn Mall across from Central World Trade,

Thers a cigar store in the basement. Cubans, Domicans....a wide range of Monte Cristos, Partagas, Romeo et Juliets etc etc.

Best of all you can smoke in there

Did a bit of checking, Gaysorn's basement shop is called Classic Cigars, and there's also another branch in the new Central World Plaza across the road [minus smoking lounge].

Siam Paragon's wine/cigar shop is nice - smoking allowed, mainly cubans [ belongs to PCC - Pacific Cigars. So is the Nurse on Wireless, I think]

Siam Havana is located at the Dusit Thani hotel, one with the widest selection in my opinion [but the prices in their website is hopelessly outdated]. Try 30-40% more. But to be fair, in-line with the price increase worldwide years ago. I think Siam Havana is an independent importer.

If you are around the Emporium area, also try this little shop diagonally across Villa Supermarket. It's next to the Pizza Company delivery station, and the prices are pretty good. Good tubos selection there.

Hyatt Erawan and Oriental Hotel also have their own divans [LCDH in Oriental] but these typically have higher mark-ups so I have not bothered checking them out yet.

The duty-free at Suvarnabhumi have got humidified walk-ins now, much improved atmosphere over Don Muang's set-up. Prices are reasonable.

There's a hotel on Wireless Rd, name escapes me, big western style hotel, it's between the British Embassy and the canal. It has a nice cigar shop and lounge. It's next door to the pastry shop.

Good prices. Cuban, Thai, Belgin and Philippine cigars.

The hotel had a strange name...ruggles. tuggles...something.....

And of course, the Oriental.

I did notice connivence stores scattered thru out BKK, in Khoa San, Sukimvit that carried tubed Cubans. Just need to look closely. Many times they are at the base of skytrain stops along Sukimvit or any of the major malls.

Went to Gaysorn Mall across from Central World Trade, Classic Cigars yesterday.

I don't look like your typical "connisuer" or howeverthehell you spell that word and seemed surprised to

see me walk in.

They asked me how I found out about the shop and told them about this site, which they also hadnt heard of.

I am full of surprises.

Anyway, the guys who run it where pretty nice. Had good cigars at good prices. Even offered me a cup

of coffee.

They are closing the Gaysorn mall location at the end ot the month but will keep the new one at CWT.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Not been there yet but the pics sure look purdy.

Grand Hyatt Erawan hotel.

In the basement near the Spasso Disco is a big cigar shop that stocks all the usual cigars.
