Electric Vehicles in Thailand
Based on my experience in the BYD wall charger installation (done by ENSUS which had the BYD contract) I didn't see any price gouging...pricing seemed fair on the invoice which was free for me as it came with my BYD Atto....but they did tell me in advance if I need extra wire beyond the free 15 meters worth (i.e., from main circuit panel to charger) that it would cost X-amount per meter...my install didn't end-up requiring any extra wire beyond the free 15 meters. And all wire remained within/on walls/ceiling; no underground wire. Now since it sounds like part of your cable run might be underground to your charger on a stand then that means it will probably have to be "NYY-G" wire which is typically what required for underground wire....it's more expensive than wire used within buildings/not buried. NYY wire insulation is much more resistance to water and chemicals in the ground than regular wire used "within" buildings/walls/ceilings. From your main circuit panel to a 32A/7KW charger the required wire size in 10mm2. Nothing really special about the stand...it's like the stand in Bandersnatch picture, but it wouldn't surprise me if the installer is not also talking about an enclosure box to go on the stand for added security and environmental protection. Now if the outdoor wire is staying above ground the installer might be talking "THWN" wire which is often used as "service drops" from the power lines down to the electric meter....it's tough wire...withstands rain, shine, bad weather, etc. The installer should be able to easily/quickly give you an estimated price and give you more "specifics" on the "wire type" he's talking about. -

I only drive local, I do a few kms per day, love driving bikes ,love driving here, done many trips to Cha Am without any problems but a few yrs ago now. -
