Thai new charter is a step along roadmap to elected government : US Embassy in Bangkok

The US Embassy in Bangkok on Thursday said it noted the promulgation of Thai new charter is a step along the government’s roadmap to a return of elected government.

The US Embassy in Bangkok’s spokeswoman Melissa Sweeney was speaking after Thailand’s new constitution was promulgated in a ceremony presided over by His Majesty the King at the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall.

It will be a step towards a "partially" elected Government, IF, Prayuth doesn't do another U-Turn.

We have been seeing this week that he is more capable of that, than most of the populace on the roads.

That would be the junta's roadmap and not he People's roadmap. Only the junta possess sovereignty to decide the future of the Thai People and the extent to which it is willing to share some of its sovereignty with the People. The new Constitution and Organic Laws make it clear that the military/NCPO will remain as unelected covert state power (aka The Dark State) in spite of the appearance of any democratically elected government.
