37th King’s Cup to kick off Dec 24

A press conference on the 37th King’s Cup was held today. The event was attended by Football Association of Thailand chairman Wichit Ketkaew, vice chairman Worawut Rojanapich, secretary Vorawee Magudee, Thai national football manager Thawatchai Sajjakukl, and representatives from different sponsors. The tournament will be held from December 24th to 30th, 2006 at Supachalasai Stadium.

Four national teams will take part in this competition including the host country (Thailand), Singapore, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan.

Mr. Wichit said the football tournament this year will be organized grander than the previous ones in order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne and His 80th birthday.

The budget for organizing the event is around four million baht.
