One killed,10 injured in van-truck crash
By The Nation

SAMUT PRAKARN: -- A van transporting employees of King Power’s Srivaree complex crashed into a trailer truck late Sunday night, killing the van driver and injuring all 10 employees, police said.

Police said the van crashed into the trailer when the truck was making a right turn in front of Air-Sea Freights Forwarder Co Ltd on Wat Srivaree Road in Tambon Bang Chalong in Samut Prakan’s Bang Plee district at about 10.30pm.

The van driver, Boonsong Sutthicharoen, 48, died behind the wheel.

The 10 employees were trapped inside the van. They were rushed to Chularat 1 Hospital after rescuers freed them.

The van was transporting the employees from the shop after their shifts finished.

Police said the crash spot was dark and the van driver might not have see the truck.

Why? Was he driving the truck without any lights on? Or was the driver just blind?

'Might not have seen the truck'. Did it not have lights on, indicators going? Probably the driver fell asleep, now permanently.

Lights on, obviously no one home.

At 10.30PM, it's usually dark everywhere and even if the area was poorly lit, the van driver must have had his headlights on and been able to see what was ahead, but sadly for him, he didn't. Hope the injured recover.

Passengers trapped inside the van.
Very lucky there was no fire, otherwise they'd be dead.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Buses and coaches have emergency exits, but minivans do not. Might be a good time to start addressing that issue.

Oh well at Least it was not over Packed and every one was wearing there seat belts  :stoner:

At least all the innocent passengers survived , the driver I suspect is to blame for the accident.

With no lights on the truck perhaps.
