Spousal Visa In Bangkok

I recently caught with an old friend who has been working in Thailand for about a year now, accompanied by his non-Thai Asian wife. He was pretty happy, as his wife had just received her spousal visa from the US consulate in Bangkok. They applied at the BCIS in Bangkok in August, had the interview in early November and after about 6 weeks for the FBI background check she got the visa last week. The whole process, a little bit less than 5 months, most of that waiting for the interview.
